Drogheda United’s newly appointed Club Promotions Officer, Terry Collins gets off to a flying start as he hosts the club’s first promotion event of 2007. Kicking off at 12 midday until 5pm, down town Drogheda will certainly get a Claret and blue makeover.

The club will have an exhibition stand in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre with the Setanta Cup on Display. The entire Drogheda United squad will appear at the event where fans will the opportunity for photographs and autographs. Visitors to the stand will receive a free copy of the Latest Drogs team poster.

The main event of the day will be the Launch of the clubs new home Jersey which will take place at the Drog Shop at 2pm Paul Doolin and Shane Robinson and a unique photo shoot aboard a boat on the River Boyne.

Famous International Freestyle footballer Nam the Man will entertain the Drogheda Public throughout the afternoon and will be assisted by children from Drogheda United feeder club Drogheda boys.

The clubs space age promotional bikes will parade the town also distributing free team posters and spot prizes to the best dressed Drog fans en route.

According to Terry “this is a prefect opportunity to launch the clubs promotional strategy the coming season”. You don’t need to tell our regular supporters that League of Ireland football is played at a very high standard and this is backed up by the performance of our clubs in last year’s Uefa competitions. I see my main role at Club promotional officer to get this message across to the sporting public in our catchment area.

something similar to what Rovers had planned, only without the "space age promotional bikes" - that sounds very 1970's!

any idea when the rovers new jersey will be launched, or is such an event planned?
