I was compiling David Connolly's international goals and I found it pretty hard to go to the depths of the internet finding them (though I did). So I started this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Ireland_national_football_team_-_results

I use RSSSF to help me out, if you check 1988 Euro Qualifying, 1990 World Cup Qualifying, 1994 World Cup Qualifying, and 1998 World Cup Qualifying, you'll see what I have done so far

Basketball season just ended so I have lost more time on my hands :)

Great idea, good work but I see a few mistakes already. I don't think we played a friendly against Israel in between the two Israel qualifiers last WC campaign. Also, 48,000 at the Lithuania qualifier at Landsdowne in September 1993? Seems a bit steep. Good luck with the article and if I get some time I'll pull out some of my old Irish football books and I'll post the results.

Game on 29 March 2005 was against China not Israel

Have been working on that for the last while
Am up to 1993 at the moment - it is very time consuming but into the last furlong

Check it out here

If you click on the score you will get a report of the game - some are not great but the one I will be basing it on is

If you have any suggestions you can e mail me at info@soccerscene.ie

Excellent piece of work. Should be a sticky linking to this as I had never seen it. Also, worth getting on to Wikipedia. (What format is your source data in?)

Because if you want the details (attendance, referee, minute scored, scorer) you have to jump around alot
(Like this)

http://www.rsssf.com/intldetails/1993e2.html

I'll be gone the rest of Thursday and Friday so I wont be able to post anything then

Also, I would hope there are mistakes, this was all I did yesterday and it got tiring

I don't know whether you've tried this but www.soccerbase.com is also a good place to find info

I have used it a bit, it is good if RSSSF doesn't have something but it only goes back a few years with attendance and ref, etc.

You say Alan O Brien scored against Portugal in first friendly of 2005 but he didn't even make his debut since 06'.

You can convert it to PDF for sure under Tools > Webcapture in Acrobat Reader. I have the full version 5 but I'm not sure if it available in the free version.

I've converted loads of websites into offline PDF files and this works best for me. The only thing you have to decided on is how deep you want to go (ie if you want to download the linked webpages too) However, with lots of wikipedia pages all the information you need is on the first page.

If you just want to download a website so you have it available offline here is the best free program for that:

Cheers for the info lads, I was thinking of using the page for some stats, according to what's there at the moment, we've never lost a game where Kevin Kilbane scored!

I'm not home til easter but if you can get your hands onany of the earlier programmes from the Charlton era; they have a list of results, dates scorers from the Wales game in 1986 on

I'm up to 1986 and have no plans of stopping, anyone who wants to offer any help is more than welcome, my dream is to go all the way to 1926 (is that it) though I think I would kill myself and I highly doubt that information would be available to me (I wonder if the FAI has it?)

Done
(oddly enough, its 81 years to the day (March 21) of our first international that it is done)
