Winning start for the U-21's in Madeira, but they're going to lose Billy Clarke for the next game: http://www.fai.ie/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1746

Tony Kane is on loan at Cercle Brugge in the Belgian top flight. He got voted man of the match by the fans on his debut for them and was 4th in the poll in his 2nd match last weekend. Good going for a right back.

I presume this Bracken guy is another Northerner, has he played for Norn Iron and what is with the recent influx of Northerners?

it definitely draws attention to the big cúnt in the middle of the word doesn't it? had anyone else even noticed the arrangement of letters before the starring happened?

it's slightly more subtle than that in nwánku kanu anyway, especially given the way the bbc and other english media only every refer to him as kanu and pretend it's like his first name a la ronaldinho, kaka etc.

The Maderia tournament has been keeping Dob Givens in a job for years. They play against crap teams & boosts his win record.

Not that I'm used to defending Givens or anything, but the U-21's did beat Italy and draw with Portugal in 2004.
In 2006, they drew with the hosts, and beat Finland and Portugal to win the tournament again.

Beating Maderia is like beating galway County U21s

I doubt Portugal play any decent U21 players. The only Ireland U21 players are those not required by their clubs. Any first team player won't be allowed travel.

According to Wikipedia there are 250,000 people in madeira, they are literally ten time the team San Marino are! We're on the up

I'm not sure if we have actually beaten Madeira yet though.

Apparently we've never lost in the tournament.

Petty rivalry between english clubs has no place here.

Saw S****horpe play under Laws earlier on in the seaosn though.

You must be getting him mixed up with someone else. Connolly maybe?
