Cheers. A bit of advice though, it helps not to take this crap seriously. ;)
I rate Gareth Cronin very highly and I like the look of his signings - can't say the same for Longford, Galway and Sligo though.

Can't really argue with that.
I'd have us at 6th rather than 8th though. Off field will say a lot again though.

Now we've signed Neil Horgan back, as well as Healy, Murphy, Ryan, Farelly and Kearney i reckon we'll be very close.
Roy O' Donovan and the Fit again John O'Flynn will terrorise defences
If O'Flynn plays more than 10 games Cork have a chance.

I was taking it that the clubs in the same bracket wuold be pretty much interchangeable. So (and I'm too lazy to look back at my original post), that's put youz, like us, somewhere between 6th and 8th.
If O'Flynn plays more than 10 games Cork have a chance.
Thats pretty much it. Il take that though, a few weeks ago we'd completely written ourselves off so its a step forward.

I really dunno why you all think we are down. I actually think we av got rid of the passengers within our squad and replaced them with solid players. Anyone who watched us last year will know dean and davy were crap 4 us all year, Danny and murph were our worst defenders and kirby while he gt player of the year i dont rate him that highly. He has a poor delivery can be tricky with the ball at his feet tho. Think rutherford could be a threat for us nxt season. In any case i expect us to comfortably stay up!!

Danny was our best defender last season and kirby was the only player who had even a half decent season last season and i expect him to flourish this season with a good st.pats team

Some people are being blinded a bit by the love of there team. I mean if you cant realistically pick who will be in the top 5 ya have no chance. A few put in Shams and UCD????? Even im being a bit optimistic but thats just wrong!!!!

Maybe so but im still not convinced about kirby tbh. Anyway rumours that paisley is on his way now have changed things. If he goes we really are in the sh1t. We are low enuf on numbers as it is.

eh, he didn't play for Bohs before he became manager!
He's lazy pure and simple. Has some talent but doesn't use it. Couldn't get a contract with Blackpool for this very reason!

Do you really fancy longford to finsh ahead of Galway? I'd be really surprised if they did to be honestI have the teams grouped and the bottom three could finish in any order. I picked Longford ahead of Galway on the basis that they have some players I've heard of and I don't think Galway have any (unless Fran Carter is still on the go).

You've only heard of Super Fran, who's now gone. Unbelievable
O'Flynn from Derry
Goalkeeper Rogers from Drogheda
Alan Murphy
Wes Charles (St Vincents and Grenadine international)
Cleary from the Claddagh.
Household names.

I know that but he spent 3 seasons as first choice for Drogheda so that's maybe where people might well know him from.

Household names. Is that the Alan Murphy who was at Drogheda a few years back? Still, looking at your list of houshold names* I'm even more sure in my bottom three prediction.
*I'm reasonably confidant that I'm the only member of my household to have heard any of these names.

Sorry if you failed to notice my sarcastic tone. We may not have any "household" names but I think the change to professional football will bring on a lot of our supposedly 1st Division players. Only time will tell of course but I think we'll survive comfortably enough this year. Anyway, sure we have a handy 3 points in our last game of the season if it comes down to it.:)

Al,
Alot of the UCD fans have a serious grudge against Galway so take their predictions with a pinch of salt. The fact that he's pretending not to know that Alan Murphy(former UTD and Derry) is playing with us sums it all up.

He knows Alan Murphy very well.
I think Galway fans would want to stop taking things so personally and realise that they're just a small team who didn't even do enough to get promoted on the pitch last year, which points to a long season ahead when you consider that teams who were strong enough to get promoted often struggle.

He knows Alan Murphy very well.I looked him up on wiki there (having genuinely not heard of him) and it's a different Alan Murphy. In any case, the football will restart soon and these off season filling discussions will be a thing of the past.

If Galway are relying on Chris Armstrong up front they have problems. We have no strikers and still wouldn't re-sign him...
Longford's first XI is better than Galway's IMO.

Its not looking to good for us this yr from looking at all those predictions. I think we will hold our own because we wont have alot of pressure or expectations on our team. We were only promoted 2 weeks ago and only built a 1st Division team so i think the players will up there game against so called "Better Teams"!!!!
Well i really hope that happens anyway.

I can see Longford in trouble this season. They have major debts. Most clubs in the premier will have budgeted properly, but Longford are starting off the season owing players big sums of money.
