Most interestingly,
Who will play right midfield?
Gareth Farrelly?
Colin T?
Colin Healy?
Joe Gamble?
Kearney with Ryan on the left?

My preference would be for a Barca-esque attacking 4-3-3.
A bit crazy but iirc Rico tried it in the Setanta final last year.
Not usually one for suggesting radical changes of formation but if ya look at the squad, especially the signings, I think they'd fit perfectly into this, with the exception of Roy who has probably proven himself as a centre forward at this stage.

----------------Devine---------------
Horgan--- -Murray----BOC------D.Ryan
----------------Gamble---------------
----------Healy-------Farrelly---------
-------Roy-------------------Kearney-
-----------------JOF-----------------

with freedom for Roy.
Could Farrelly play up front til JOF returns? I think his first few Bohs games were up front, no?
Thoughts?

Who cares! Hoggys coming home...
By the way, Colm Carroll and Denis Behan are both forwards and likely to start up front, ahead of Farrelly.

that 4-3-3 formation looks perfect would love if rico played that formation. it would suit the players we have perfect

I don't see Rico changing things yet.

--------------Devine---------------
Horgan---Murray--O'Callaghan/Murphy--Woods/Ryan
Healy----Gamble----Farrelly-----Kearney
--------J O'Flynn--- O'Donovan-------

Bench: McNulty, Murphy/O'Callaghan, O'Brien, Softic, Behan

Options:
Behan can fill in for O'Flynn,
Woods can play fullback or wide midfield,
O'Brien can come into midfield or right back.
Farrelly could play wide midfield if required.
O'Callaghan can also play right back.
Lordan can play right midfield or right back.

If wasn't injuries issues with O'Flynn would be ok for forwards but given his history another forward would complete the squad.

21 player squad.
Keeper: Devine, McNulty
Defence: Horgan, O'Callaghan, Murray, Murphy, Kelly, Ryan
Midfield: Healy, Gamble, Farrelly, Kearney, O'Brien, Softic, Woods Ca Lordan, Ci Lordan
Forwards: O'Donovan, O'Flynn, Behan, Carroll

Healy and Gamble in the middle would be better than any other combination IMO.

Would be stupid to play either Healy or Farrelly on the right as a winger just to try and accomodate them. Is O'Donovan definately playing up front from now on because a midfield with him and Kearney on the wings with Gamble and Healy in the middle is probably the best foursome in the league. Needs JOF fit though to do it.

He was on the bench bellavistaman. Rico seems to think he's one for the future i think.

I agree and also probably concur about putting one of them on the right which is why I'd go with the formation i've posted above.

Roy is definately a striker and Rico has said as much.

I think this may have had a lot to do with not wanting to change so many players in defence & O'Callaghan was safer option.

I thought he said on the big red bench that we're going to see a lot from him in the future. Similar to what he said about Cathal Lordan last season.
I'd say BOC will start with Sean Kelly next in line. He might get the odd run out.
