Just been told that we are playing you on Saturday in Longford. Not sure what time yet, but will confirm when I know.

Shame on you!

BTW is there any half decent but cheap accommodation in Longford? Thinking of making it an overnighter coz would like to have a few drinks while there. Last time was at a game in Longford I couldnt drink coz was driving home and we hit the pubs and clubs and had a great nite!

Reckon the Anvil is your best bet, its just off Main Street and heading onto Dublin Street, highly commended by a few eL fans here... failing that, Longford Arms, PV's have accomodation or plenty B&B's outside the town...

Massively not recommended by my missus who stayed there in the autumn. They got rooms that were an awful kip, not en suite and freezing cold. They booked the Arms for their return this year after the first night! Think the lesson may be what's acceptable to young males on a booze, birds and football weekend is below normal acceptable standards.

fair enough, was going on what other people were saying... never stayed myself, so Magicme, if ya like comfort and stuff, dont bother with the Anvil. B&B's loads outside the town. Maybe McPartlands in Clondra outside the town....

Well, last week against Dundalk it was:

Dempsey
Brennan, Doherty, Paisley, Prunty
Deegan, Crawford, Chambers
Freeman, Mooney, R.Martin

Dunno what it'll be like this week. 3 lads in midfield all from Shels, haven't signed yet though apparently.

There's talk of Crawford going back to Shels as assistant manager to Alan Moore

Yeah heard that. Would be a pity because he would be a good signing for us :(

With Dermot Keely getting the Shels job, will these players sign with us now or are we just a training ground for out of contract players waiting for a better offer??

Well that was a waste of two hours driving! Got the ground only to receive a call saying it was cancelled! The lack of lights and cars initially drew my suspicion!

Why was it called off? Was thinking of going, glad I didnt now:o.

Yeah an hour and 20 mins there and an hour and 20 back....furthest I ever went for a toasted sandwich!

Just home now. Pitch was waterlogged. If only they had told us the fixture was in doubt we would have stopped off in Cavan or somewhere and watched some of the rugby and waited for further news. Gutted.

Pitch was waterlogged.I was in Carrick on Shannon(bout 20mins from Longford) earlier today. Wasn't really raining, slight drizzle but their must have been really bad rain later in the day for them to call it off.

Aye, the closer to the ground I got the roads had some fairly heavy rainfall on them.
