There are not many midweek fixtures scheduled. Last year there were loads. Why is this?

Don't worry, there'll be plenty of unscheduled ones.

There were loads last year because of games being rescheduled.

And there was no need to break for the World Cup if the national side didnt qualify for it.

Same this year. Why are there no fixtures on the 10th of June? Especially when there is a midweek fixture list a week and a half before this?

The midweek fixtures include Rovers at home to Cork and Derry home to Waterford. Seems obvious yet again that fans do not matter.

FAO FAI there is no need for a summer break because then midweek fixtures have to be jammed in. Midweek fixtures, like thursday night football, attract dreadful crowds. When will they ever learn?

In fairness i think a mid summer break is good at least for part time outfits it gives fans and players a window to go on holidays aswell

Or you could just go on a winter holiday.

For a week?? It's a joke. Last season we went 2 months without a home game and badly needed revenue because of their stupid break.

Your own fans fighting amongst themselves is what is pathetic and embarrassing a bit like your club. Ah well at least you're in the first division:D

Anyone know when the European fixtures are likely to be on? Scratch a bunch of the fixtures from the first-round weekend and likely the next few rounds for Derry, Drogs and Cork as well and move them to an undetermined midweek date. Is it too much to suppose that some of the teams involved have been paired on these dates to reduce the backlog:confused:

If they really have to schedule a mid-season break, why put it in June? It'd be far better placed around the middle/end of July, so that it falls during the English pre-season. That way the clubs that want to will be able to play a friendly in the empty week.

But then the players wouldn't be allowed go on their holliers?

The break is to facilitate the desire of our very professional officials and blazer brigade to take a summer holiday. There is no other reason for it, this year or any other year.

If the player is getting paid a reasonable amount, then I doubt he'll be allowed to go on holiday anyway.

Most Premier Division sides will keep their players training through the break anyway, so we might as well time it so they can play a game or two against foreign opposition.

Meanwhile, the players that don't get paid can go off for a week in the sun..

Never said anything about a riot. We wont mention our 2 trips there last season then.

We'll be able to use that one for a long time and we both know it.

Maxi for dundalk mayor?

Anyway agree with Frankfurt there. A break is for the blazers. Fans dont matter in merrion square.

Thats good, it will save every club in the country mentioning nearly every trip Rovers made to them in the past and vice verse

I'll save this one for the end of the season, you might get nominated for POTY.
