Says Shels failed to supply the necessary paperwork to the licence committee. The conditions attached to the Shels licence include providing a TCC or else.

Liam Moggan, chairman of the Licensing committee has quit because he thought Shels should have been booted out of football.

Some good coverage in the papers about the fixtures being published as wel with the Bohs v Drogheda game getting most of the coverage.

There are some other good articles on the league as well

Jeez, getting a tax clearance cert in the next 3 weeks could be a big hurdle to them giving the probs with revenue over the past year.

If they didn't have a TCC, surely they shouldn't have even got a First Division license either. That makes a ****ing joke out of the licensing system, yet again.

The way I see it is that they've being given a FD license for now, and that 'with conditions' means that they still have to sort a few things out or else it will be taken away from them or they will get deducted points.

Never stopped them before.

I don't think, even if they fail, they should be kicked out of the league. No club should be kicked out of the league for failing licencing. Relegated, yes. Points deduction, fines, etc, yes. But not being kicked out of the league when it's a closed shop back into the First Division. So if they don't meet the conditions, leave them in the First Division with, say, a ten point penalty.

I was personally surprised by the first division license award as there is very little difference between a first division and Premier license in the financial criteria section.

Its another FAI fudge as predicted and fair play to the Chairman of the Committee who obviously has moral backbone and stood by his principles.

Delaney's position gets less tenable by the day, but the Teflon Don seems to be sailing on unaware.

How can they possibly launch any sort of credible appeal?

I've never wanted to see the end of Shels but firmly believe that should be booted out if the league if they appeal the current decision.

I am now getting close to opinion that Shels should be booted out of the 1st division as they've had plenty of time to sort things out & is affecting other clubs who trying to do things correctly.

Shels fans silence continues.

It's very frustrating. As a KCFC fan, we don't even know if our first game will go ahead.

If they quit the league or are booted out clubs lose important gate receipts.

It's also embarrassing and will obviously overshadow the league launch.

I just hope the 5 days elapse and no appeal is launched. Howcome Limerick were not given a First Division license with conditions attatched? They were just thrown out straight away. Double standards. I'm not saying I want Shels thrown out but this off-season has show the licensing system to be too easily influenced by Delaney and Co., people who technically should have nothing to do with the awarding of licenses. If my club was in the state Shels is in then we would be shown the door no questions ask. Where's the onjectivity?!...

That's all well and good, but how did Shels get a license last year? by the sounds of things they should never have even got a premier division license for last season! Actually now that I think about it the answer is self explanatory ....... Ollie lied as per usual

I hope they actually field a team in the 1st Division it would be great to see them get tanked by a few teams they previously would have viewed as being "below them" :p

No club should be kicked out of the league for failing licencing.

Seeing as Limerick were not granted a licence and cant join the league
there’s the precedent for Shels to be booted out if they fail the new
licence conditions.

(Not that I like to see any team get booted out)

The first division is supposed to be run PROPERLY - and not used as a dumping ground for jokeshop clubs. If Shels can't comply with everything, then they should be turfed out. Fast.

Well based on Shel's fans total lack of any effort to save the club. Yes thats exactly what I think.

(I exclude the guy who started an online petition to send to the FAI)
