View Full Version : Waterford in Premier!
Just officially announced that Waterford have taken Shelbournes place. Again i still cannot help but feel sorry for Dundalk especially when they beat waterford in the play off. No link because it came from a waterford player.

Well if its true we'll just swap places at the end of this season instead :)
Dont know if it would be a good thing for Waterford though, probably dont have enough quality to win the first at the moment so they'll probably find it tough in the premier, could they do worse than last year??

But Waterford still finished on higher points in the IAG so seeing as that
was the basis on deciding the divisions anything other than Waterford
getting into the Premier would be wrong.
No point feeling sorry for them imho

the play offs had nothing to do with who played in what division this season.
waterford united deserve their place in the premier because the had a higher ranking then dundalk just like galway surprised everyone else with their points scored.
Doesn`t bother me in the slightest, Waterford with an average to ok team removed with Shels having nothing to offer as their replacements, thats fine with me.
Waterford are in a for very difficult season with the squad they have, to be quite honest we would also struggle if we were in their position.
No need to send maxi up today !

In fairness all teams in the 1st division are average to ok at best, that's why there in the 1st division.
Waterford have played Bray and Shamrock Rovers to date in there pre season friendlies and have looked like a half decent side, far better than last season anyway (which wouldn't be hard).... They would have been there or there abouts at the business end of the season i reckon if playing in the 1st.
Wouldn't take it as a given until a press release is made though.

I'd like to wish Waterford good luck in the premier league. It will be a tough task due to the lack of preparation time. However, it is too good of an opportunity fo them to turn down.

Didn't we beat Derry 4 - 0 in a pre season , what is your point ? Anyway way back on topic Congratz to waterford . I think the majority of Dundalk fans will take 50k prize for the winner of the 1st divison and MAYBE a place in the setanta cup.
