How come no one has mentioned it?
Are people ashamed to say how much they've spent of just ashamed to admit that they're single?

Here's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singles_Awareness_Day) an alternative...

Why would your missus want the house to herself, every other Friday night?
I'd be suspicious of that, if I were you! :D

Price i'm willing to pay.:D

She's actually taken an interest past year or so and always wants to come to the Cross.
She deputised for the sick buddy for a month last year so might come to a Setanta game or two.

The senorita reckons the day is a load of over-rated mush designed for card companys to make loads of money. over commercialised rubbish. thank God, a woman that talks sense! :)

still doesnt mean ill get away without taking her for a meal though! ;)

Cook her a meal.
There's a whole thread of ideas, on this forum. ;)

Indeed, Cooking is the way forward, no special Valentines Menu's, no hoardes of loving couples and couples having to pretend to be loving because it's a day in the middle of February...
Tonight I will be cooking Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas as we have a Carribean themed Valentines evening.

I don't see how going to a restaurant is something to complain about.
Get your point alright though Bob.
Its always easy to pick out the wife who's thinking
"Wow, he's smiling at me. Now, I remember what that looks like.":ball:

Did that last week... first meal ive ever cooked for a girlfriend. ok it was spaghetti bolognese, but i threw so much effort into it, she'd have been happier me cooking it rather than a poncey restaurant anyday. :)

I love it when have someone special in my life but when I dont its just another day. It was nice tho today coz 2 of very sexy men text me wishing me a happy one, one of my mates rang me to wish me it and my youngest son made me a lovely card. Pity he had to ruin it by the poem he made up:

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
Old people are old
and so are you.

Little git!

Valentines day is an invention by the PR and Marketing savy Gardeners and chocolate makers ( and in recent years the lingerie artistés ) who emphasise the importance of Valentines and how one must show their eternal love for their partners. I refuse to get caught up in the hysterics of this silly occasion

Valentines Day is for single people, teenagers and people who are still in the honeymoon period of a relationship if you ask me.

If a man brought me roses he would be walkin funny for a few days coz those thorns could do alot of damage to the said man's backpassage!

I prefer more original flowers, I only get roses if I need them for a spell!

I'll send you a dozen red roses if you say a spell so that Wexford will somehow finish ahead of Monaghan this year.

I thought that might hit your spot - subsequent girlfriends were obsessed with one or other of those two. Which is odd as I look nothing like either, probably why they are both ex-s now:(

Ya, quite a difference between this (http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41037000/jpg/_41037773_stan203.jpg) and this (http://www.joeboyleart.com/pages/images/misc/bluebeard.jpg).
Who cares though?
I know who i'd rather bump into in a Paris bar.
