I just wanted to say that as a rabid Irish fan living in the states this website is by far and away the best source of information and news on thie national team. The fans on here are true fans. of course there are disagreements, differences of opinion etc, but to see and read about the craic in san marino really reminds me of what the irish supporters are all about. Fair play to you all (even Ealing green). Please keep in mind this website is the only up to date link for info we have to our national team and is most appreciated by those of us overseas. I know there are a few people that work behind the scenes to make it all happen, so well done!!.

one additional thought:
Can foot.ie set up a merchandise section? - its funny to think in this marketing/merchandising age you cannot even buy a fukn scarf on the national associations website. (fai.ie)

I got the foot.ie logo from dahamasta for use in connection with the GT BUS. I had actually printed labels with the foot.ie logo in the background, with the names of all foot.ie members who had posted that they were going to San Marino and gave some of them out to people in the Bounty on the Tuesday night. I had a pack for everyone on the bus which included a personalised printed foot.ie label for foot.ie people travelling on the GT BUS. and a souvenir personalised "ticket" for everybody with the foot.ie logo and details of the trip on it. Due to confusions not everybody got their packs but I brought them home with me and they are available if people PM me.

While it would be great to have foot.ie merchandise it would possibly add a commercial element to the site that might take away from the original purpose.

i understand that point aido about the commercial aspect, and may take away from the purpose of the site. I think you hit the nail on the head with your plan in san marino, maybe just have foot.ie merchandise for sale - you know the way a lot of independent supporters clubs sometimes sell gear (t-shirts, scarves, etc). I know the site is not intended as a sales or revenue generating pitch, but from the perspective of a fan overseas it is fookin sad when you have to go on ebay to buy an irish scarf!! - it would be more of an additional service than anything else, and i would feel prety good about myself buying merchandise when i know the $$ goes back to a top class site for the fans - which is what this is.

Maybe sell mechandise with all profits going towards advertising the site in the national media. Also Foot.ie t-shirts etc would source of advertising in themseves.

It would be a good way of advertising the Eircom League seeing as the Fai arent bothered.
