Points On New Stadium

Can anyone tell me is the price going to go up in the new stadium? What is it going to be called? Whats the deal with Mels is it going to be kept for schoolboy finals or is being built on? and If it is being built on whats going to happen to the schoolboy league, are the finals going to be played in the new place.

Entrance fee for new ground was still at committee level the last I heard two weeks ago but was pretty close to agreement. There will be a lot of different tickets this year ie adult, family, youth etc

Schoolboy finals will be played in the new stadium.

Name of stadium wont be announced till official opening I would guess

St Mels still in use by the youths until end of May, after that no decision yet

Not being refered to as anything locally other than new stadium.

Official opening will be the day of the first match in the new eircom league. Official opening in the afternoon with the match in the evening. Will propbably be a saturday. Will be a day of events apparently

What happened to the Golden Island Park name that was doing the rounds last season?

That was just a one year sponsorship deal on St Mels Park. Dont think it worked too well as everyong still called it St Mels:) but the money was worth it

Lisseywollen??? :eek: Is that really the new name or the townland it is situated in? I'm gobsmacked. Some of the Wexford lads took some very undeserving stick over the name of their team - but this takes the Gateaux-Come back St. Mel - They need you more than ever now:)

You should hype up your first game in the new stadium. Only one opportunity to make a first impression. Make sure there are cameras there. Also the website section for the stadium needs to be updated.

it will be hyped up and I know that atfconline is sorting the website for the new season.

Then our first match is on a Saturday so I hope to see a lot of you off here down in the new ground. A few companies in talks about the naming rights for the stadium with the committee. So things are going well
