While we are at it, their coverage was brutal, saved by the 5 min long ad breaks. Paul Osam would have been more interesting!
(At least Dave Kelly did try to ask the right questions, but he might as well have been talking to the cardboard behind Stan)

Turgid. Absolutely terrible. Like BBC with Ian Wright or something.

thought it was funny..having ads on during ireland games is probably a bad idea as the mindset of those watchin would not be exactly happy. I hated every product or service advertised...but god ye have to laugh...

Alridge should be sacked. Its so obvious he is biased. They were analysing the game technicnally. Hard to beleive that this was happening against San Marino.

Having a panel composed of three mates of the manager is pointless. Only Dave Kelly earned his fee.

Its on nights like this you miss the RTE crowd they would have torn the lot to shreads

the RTE panel is oe of the best around to be fair. TV3 was painful to watch - they should give up.

Having a panel comprising thee guys who would like to get the Irish job is a waste... no way are they going to say anything negative about Delaney and his bizarre recruitment policy that has landed us in this mess... oh for Giles 7 Dunphy...still at least Tom Humphries in today's Irish Times rightly got stuck into both Staunton & more so Delaney... as I say send in the clowns etc

I dont think TV3 should show us full stop - when was the last time we had a good result when they were screening the game!!!

Rte should capitilaise on this and get the Dunphy Giles and Brady in for a half hour special tonight. The venom spouted by Dunphy would be hilarious! Pity I missed him on the radio today. I heard Emmett MAlone saying if Delaney doesn't sack Staunton now, Delaney himself will be forced out after the Slovenia match if performances are still as bad.

TV3 are the ultimate Johnas. I cant remember them ever screening a good Irish performnance. Certainly not recently. Coverage is shocking.

How can he be forced out?.

Public, Press and fan pressure.

5-2 v Cyprus, 2-1 v San Marino, TV3 is a curse.

Even Brian Kerr is there, he is probably the reason for those results.

Who cares what the pundits say. I watch tv for the matches not the "informed experts" to tell me what to think...

TV3 have been a curse for years. Croatia Away, Yugoslavia Away, Cyprus Away, San Marino..............

If you're particularly superstitious - that white jersey is a curse as well!!!!

and why didnt they have it ? did TV3 secure the rights ? I've hated TV3 whenever I've seen it, they are basically UTV relay station with a minor Irish spin. They should leave things like live sport alone and stick to their reality 'Celeb Monkey's on Ice' rubbish they spew out.

Away games are sold by the Local TV Company to the highest bidder. RTE must have somebody working for them that can predict these kind of games and let TV3 win the rights.

It's unfortunate that TV3, as opposed to RTÉ, covered both last night's and the Cyprus games.

At the beginning, I thought I heard portly Trevor refer to Henderson as 'Williamson'.

Apart from the obvious that we have an excuse for a manager and a footballing organisation in the country, there are 2 things i'd like answered:

1. How do tv3 dress up the crap that kevin moran, john aldridge and ronnie whealan had to say post match last night as analysis. For years these retired "heros" have been getting away with talking absolute nonsense and last night it just got to me. It was truly unsurprising to see that none of them thought Staunton should walk either, imagine that!

2. Why are the above idiots always the first people suggested for the job if it becomes vacant? Ive noticed on these threads an insularity in thinking that the next manager should be irish. Its that kind of talk that got steve mclaren the english job and its the same reason they're down **** creek aswell.

Mate good luck on this site with both your user name and signature.

I've never heard Moran or Whelan mentioned as possible managers.

To get a bit of publicity for the foot.ie flag, it's maiden voyage unveiling etc. I made contact with TV3 about 2 weeks before the match. As they had the match I felt they would have a camera crew over in Rimini/San Marino and it might just get them a bit of very badly needed PR. I asked to be put through to their Sports Department  but was told I could leave a message with the receptionist.

I gave the details to the receptionist and left my mobile number with her but heard nothing from them. While in Rimini I was on the lookout for their camera crew but didn't see any.

I had done the same with RTE and was told they were sending a news crew out. I left my mobile number for Tony O'Donoghue but hadn't heard anything back from them either. However, in my shy way :o I approached Tony O'Donoghue in the Bounty on Tuesday night and told him the story about the flag and the GT BUS. He said that he hadn't got the message but took my mobile phone number and said that he would be outside the Bounty to film the unveiling of the flag and the GT BUS on Wednesday evening. True to his word he rang me just before 4 o'clock and the results were on the 6 o'clock news on Wednesday evening.

The word I think that's missing from TV3's vocabulary is professional

Well said. As if Dunphy would have anything new to say anyway. He's attacked the last 4 Irish managers supported by Giles and I find nothing about him "hilarious". I didn't see the TV3 coverage but thank heavens it wasn't the same old biased stuff that RTE put out.
