Some Stats:

Fourth straight defeat. Largest defeat of the season. 5 points won from our last 10 games.

Only consolation is both Kilkenny & Dub City both lost at the weekend too.

Sorry, but there's no consolation for a dismal defeat like this.

With the season almost over everything is a shambles. If the all local policy was to prove dividends then we should be improving as the season went on, we are simply getting worse!!!!!!!!!

So, what happens for the next season which is just around the corner, what are the clubs strategic plans???

Will someone from the ATFC comnittee please say something publicly!!!

Harps go second

Finn Harps have climbed to second in the eircom First Division with a convincing 4-0 victory over Athlone Town at Finn Park. The Donegal men were dominant throughout as Athlone failed to even win a corner during the 90 minutes.

Kevin McHugh and Damien Whitehead were Harps' heroes as they grabbed two goals a-piece. McHugh started the scoring as early as the third minute before Whitehead doubled the lead on nine minutes. McHugh added his second in the 51st minute and Whitehead completed the rout with ten minutes remaining.

Kevin McHugh and Damien Whitehead each bagged two goals as Finn Harps romped to a comfortable victory over Athlone Town at Finn Park on Saturday evening to go second in the table.

The victory pushes the Donegal outfit up ahead of Galway United, while Waterford remain top of the pile.

Harps dominated the game and were one up after only three minutes through McHugh. Whithead doubled their lead in the ninth minute, as beleaguered Athlone appeared to inexplicably throw in the towel. In fact the visitors didn’t even win a corner during the match, such was the one-sidedness of this game.

It remained 2-0 at half-time but McHugh struck again in the 51st minute to make it three and Whitehead added his second in the 80th. Donegal GAA star Brendan Devenney made an appearance in the last quarter, much to the delight of the home fans on a great night for the Harps.

from North West Radio & Shannonside would seem to confirm that we threw in the towel after 10 minutes last night, and had NO chances on target. Our best chance came on 89 minutes when Parkes shot wide.

Has Molloy picked up an injury or something? Has been left out of the last two starting line-ups.

Maybe someone from the Club could attend the next Supporters Club meeting?

BTW, I know this is no excuse for losing 4-0 with no chances on target, but we have had no consistency in line-ups this season due mainly to injuries. For example, from the team that played Harps in Mel's earlier in the season, only three started on Saturday night, and one of them, Parkes, only played 38 minutes since the September 26th. The shortened season is making things even worse, taking away an extra 11 games that we could have had to settle the team down. I'd give them til the end of the season before getting on anyone's back.

On the stadium side of things, I went up to what I believe to be the new site the other day, couldn't see any work started on it.
