Roy Hodson currently managing the UAE has expressed an interest in managing Ireland.
I think Hodgson comes a close second to Brian Kerr as my preference for the new manager.
What do you think?

He has preformed relatively well on the internatioal stage with a limited Swiss squad in the past. He hasn't done much since though. His short stint in the Premiership certainly didn' bring extensive success!!

What's wrong with Roy Hodgson. He has more international experience than most of the other candidates mentioned.

Quality experience is of course always desirable. But poor experience is hardly much addition. What has Hodgson done since Euro '96 - toss all!

I started off thiniking Kerr be a good assistant but the longer its gone the more i'm convince Kerr is the best candidate, wants the job & would not let his country down.

Yeah, he even showed something that none of the other candidates did..........enthusiasm, by, despite all the talk of other candidates, being the first to actually apply for the job.
Hope he bloody well gets it!

Kerr may be the only man to have officially informed the FAI about his candidature. However, you may rest assured that others have made informal soundings behind the scenes. Brian Kidd said today that he was approached by Kevin Moran regarding his interest in coaching Ireland if Moran was offered the management role. So there definitely are other interested parties working in the wings.
