Match is confirmend but no starting line up as stated by Gormley in today's stgar, he said he is struggling to pick his starting 11 and with new competition and all players wanting a place it will be tough to even decided who is on the bench!!!

Finished 2-2. Waterford had a 2 goal advantage going into the half time break. First goal was scrappy but Coolings free kick was excellent ! Good run out for the squad, which is totally different looking to last seasons, i think a totaly of 10 or so players made there debuts, i was quite impressed with Derek Tyrell, Gary Cronin, Paul Dunphy and Gary McCabe. James O'Shea's cameo role at the end shows what a good player he's going to be, he could be as good and if not better then the likes of Kevin Doyle.

very impressed with some parts of the match. we seemed to want to pass the ball around a bit and kept the ball very well. but with foxy up front we never looked likely to create much. when o'shea came on we created chances and scored twice. i dont think o'shea had any influence in the goals anyway but i hope foxy isnt going to be our 1st choice striker. our new defence looked well at times need a couple of matches to get familiar with each other and ray kenny might find it hard to get into the team imo....

any other home friendlies organised???

Ah yeah plenty of work to do on the training pitch but were moving in the right direction.

2 matches arranged for the team when they are down in Limerick later in the month (Dundalk and Limerick 37), also a team of maily U21's will play against Shamrock Rovers next sunday and there is another match next Tuesday but can't remember who it's againist (has it in this weeks Bray People)

i thought the 2 wingers were very poor. its was just the first friendly so hopefully they will improve. delaney looks like he could score a few goals this season with cawley delivering the free kicks and corners. i have never really rated williams and would prefer skippy in nets.
