One thing amid Shels' painful implosion that maybe we haven't mentioned here is the huge boost it gives to our prospects of staying up next season.
Shels will have a team, I'd imagine, something similar to what Rovers had last year, managed by someone probably inferior to Pat Scully. They've effectively no players at present.
The prospects of us staying up are thus a great deal higher than what they were prior to their disintegration.

I know im dreaming but I couldnt resist a little punt on Utd each way at 100/1. It would be a nice little earner!

I'm tempted to bet on us staying up, will check the odds later, my work firewall would fire me for looking at anything gambling related... apparently it's distracting!

No harm at 100-1 for the laugh but we have no chance of even finishing in the top three next season and less of winning it.
I've backed the Drogs very heavily each-way at 7s and have a fair bit each-way on Pat's at 33s.

is it 100/1 1st-3rd?.... this isnt any other european league so you would be foolish in my opinion to discard teams who are newly promoted as the teams that will struggle which is a kin to other european leagues where most clubs keep 95% of their players!. apart from derry and drogs i think its open season on all the other teams. having said that those two are'nt guaranteed to be there either!. hopefully we can get the teams we want twice at home and once away i think the fixture list will be crucial. im definitly investing a few euro every week till the league starts.

100-5 (20-1) us to finish in the top 3.
We are a long way removed from Derry, Cork and Drogheda; we are comfortably adrift of Bohemians and St Pat's.

me too, at this stage I will be happy to finish outside the bottom 3 never mind finishing in the top 3.

Considering there is a playoff which actually counts for relegation it's v unlikely that there will be a relegation market - Paddy Power might price up 'Who will finish bottom' - Shels could be favourites at this stage!
