Is there actually going to be a league to televise this year? I thought a certain bloke from Drumcondra and his mate from Merrion Sq were conspiring to bring the who show tumbling down...

I don't believe they show but no first hand knowledge. I think they have shown as live later that week in the past...

Take out a subscription to an Irish address and get them to send you a viewing card. You can then watch Setanta Ireland wherever you are.
BTW - good promotion on at the moment , €10 per month.

You'll need a subscription to Sky in Ireland first, then sign up to Setanta.

Takes a good few weeks to sort with all the to-ing and fro-ing though - so you'd want to get the proverbial wriggle-on if you fancy doing this.

It was on Setanta Ireland, and for some reason wasn't blocked.I remember flicking through the channels the night of the Linfield - Derry match in Windsor, and being amazed that it was on.

Actually you dont Steve , I have Setanta on a "Stand Alone" basis , when I subscribed I told them that I was not a Sky customer but had a digibox and they sent me a card with just Setanta on it. It works in any digibox , I tried it out.

Sadly only on Sky, NTL only give you Celtic and Rangers TV, Setanta Golf, some American sports network and Setanta Sports 1

Anyone know how to get this in the States? I tried looking for webcasts, but Setanta seems to block IP addresses from outside Ireland for the broadband casts.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Would love to know if there's a solution to this.

If you know someone with Setanta and can hook it up to their PC, it can be broadcast through sopcast or TVU through the internet. AFAIK they provide the programme/upload route so you only leave it running.

Worth investigating IMO

WaR, any news on RTE's (you can put in the fada yourself) plans for the coming year? Increased coverage? i seem to remember Setanta saying they'd be showing more games but haven't heard any news about this years coverage

Presume RTE/Setanta/TG4 all showing live games with TV3 doing the half hour Monday thing?

Still not been announced officially - the new LOI press guy is a bit slow ;) - but there's plans for up to 30 live games with Friday night being "sport night" on RTÉ Two. More when I have it....

No, is the answer!
Setanta Sports Ireland is exclusive to Ireland.
They do offer some matches on the Internet but they're often restricted by geographical location.

Well the block certain programmes so then.
I guess they control the rights to the SSC so there wouldn't be any dispute.
