Did it ever occur to you that in Jason Byrne's case and in Eamon Zayeed's case that Devlin was acting in Bray's best financial interests. Make no mistake about it, Zayeed's loan and transfer were great business for Bray, (much better than Kevin Doyle's transfer from Cork). If Devlin did make a few quid out of it for himself, so what. Bray's financial interests were not compromised.

Even if the FAI have failed to follow FIFA rules and guidelines, why have not FIFA, as the governing body, enforced their own rules if, as you allege, there is such clear breaches of their rules?

I doubt FIFA have noticed the eL exists.

I am saying that Devlin acted in Bray's best financial interests, evidenced by the fact that Bray will further benefit from any sell-on of Jason Byrne. If he was able to get a good deal for Byrne as part of the deal, then Byrne has benefitted. If Devlin earned out of it, he was either paid by Bray, by Byrne or by Shels. Haven't heard any of them squealing that they were had over or that Devlin was not acting in Bray's best interests.

There are times when to ensure a club's financial stability, it is in the best interests of the club to sell one or more of its best players, a situation that occurs not only in the EL. That may be seen as lack of ambition, but what is more important, buying success and getting into hugh debt or even insolvency or running your club within sensible financial limits. Bray have survived, Dublin City didn't, Shels are in deep sh*t, Cork are not in great financial shape and would have no hesitation in selling if the price is right or if the bank demands them to. As the recent club licencing process proved, Bray are considered to be one of the better run clubs. Devlin's dealings had a lot to do with that.

The problem is that it presents a conflict of interests if the agent/advisor is also his manager.

The manager's job is to get the best deal for the club. The agent/advisor aims to get a slice of the cake for himself, which could be to the disadvantage of the club. This is why it is against FIFA rules for a manager to also act as an agent/advisor. A rule which Ireland's B manager is breaking.

But as a fan, if this is all you have ever known, then its hard to see the problem, bless.

Selling O'Callaghan for £70,000 or euros, whatever is a pretty good deal for both sides.

Ipswich get a good player, IF he gets his attitude right. Personally I think Jim Magilton is a far sterner manager then Rico.

And Cork get rid of this gob****e for, I'm guessing, a tidy profit. He's a disease to our league. Thankfully his attitude hasn't passed on to other top players in our league.

Yeah he has some of the Bray team tormented with ineptitude rendering them practically helpless, they are still trying to recover from it. You'd want to contact this crowd (http://www.cdc.gov/) to see if there is a cure !! :p

There have been some very severe cases of it in the past where guys were left like drooling vegetables, completely incapacitated. Shocking waste of life y’know.
