sorry whats trolling?
I believe it means attempting to lure someone into responding to the remark, unsavourly (for want of a better word)

it also means, for example, a supporter of another club coming on to the gufc forum and writing worthless comment.

Don't do that anymore GF.
Don't shy away from expressing exactly what i think in a blunt manner either.;)

If that's a reference to my explanation, I must ask how can you deem it worthless when he was asking what it meant?
I believe he was referring to the limerick supporter
So is there anybody going down to the waterford match? thinking about driving down with the missus and staying overnight.

Hi All,
Where is Tallow ? As the post above suggests it's just on the Cork/Waterford border and 50 miles from Waterford City back through Dungarvan,Cappoquin and Lismore ( 5miles ). I am the secretary of the local soccer club Brideview Utd where the match is to take place. Tallow is a small village (1000-1500 people) and we are a junior club in the West Waterford East Cork League. Through local fundraising and lotto grants we have been able to develop our grounds over the last 10 years to incorporate two full sized playing pitches, changing facilities,all-weather pitch, large car-park and recently we have floodlit our pitch - unfortunately we have no stands!!!. Tallow is the birthplace of Charlie McCarthy who's son Mick McCarthy captained and managed the Republic of Ireland and Mick has been to our club on a few occasions. It will be the official opening of the floodlights and ye are all welcome. Tallow has 7 pubs,3 restaurants and a couple of B&B's and a small hotel. If I can be of any help please do not hesitate to drop me a mail.
Yours in Sport
Dominic

Where is Newbridge?? Is it before Galway coming from Athlone or where??
Patrick Dunne
31/01/2007, 12:01 PM
The Newbridge pub scene is the Shiven Inn and Cunninghams.
The Shiven will be the location for before and after match pints, Cunninghams would be more of a GAA spot.
Coming from Galway, take a right at Loughgeorge (Central Tavern) and continue through Lackagh, Turloughmore, Abbeyknockmoy along the Roscommon road. Turn right at the Tuam junction in Brierfield, go through Moylough and take the first major left to Newbridge, approx 5 miles from Moylough and 32 miles from Galway City. The ground is 1 mile from Newbridge - take a right in the centre of the village. It should be easy to find at night-time.
For those of you with a sense of adventure, a Bus Eireann bus leaves Galway at 4.25 and will drop you in Newbridge at 5.45 approx.
Anyone coming from Monaghan, pm me or JW for directions.
