Connor to tempt Reds with cash for Downey

Bohemians manager Sean Connor is to take one final look at Cliftonville midfielder Conor Downey is next Tuesday's County Antrim Shield semi-final against Glentoran.
And it is understood that if the talented Downey impresses yet again against the Glens, Bohs will tempt the Reds with a cash offer for the player.
Connor has watched Downey on a number of occasions in the last couple of months, most recently in Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Limavady United.
Last month Cliftonville manager Eddie Patterson challenged Connor to put his money where his mouth is if he is interested in Downey after criticising the Bohs boss for making his admiration for the player known in the media before making any kind of approach to Cliftonville.
Downey is at present playing the best football of his career during Cliftonville's impressive run so far this season.

Well if he does as well as the much heralded Paul Brown that he signed for Sligo, you'd be better off with Roma Downey.
