Glentoran lost 3-2 against Ballymena tonight to record their second defeat in four days. Only two ahead of Linfield now and we have a game in hand. :)

Long way to go yet but we have played all the hard ties at Coleraine Ballymena Portadown Seaview and solitude coming up so we have the easier run in but its a long way to go and we need to improve alot!

I'm glad that the wheels are starting to come off the Glens, I was getting concerned about facing them in the Setanta Cup.

Bugger. Thought the Glens were decent odds at 4/6...

Just as well you only "do (y)our talking on the pitch" (or whatever deranged ballbaggery your manager is vomiting up this week).

A draw away to a team that have not lost at home this season and are challenging for the league is hardly a disastrous result, certainly not as bading as losing to a mid table team.

However, it's not the result most of your support was predicting.
However, nice to know you think of us anyway, even when you're on a different football forum.

I think you will find most of our support was expecting a very difficult match and most have been full of praise for Cliftonville this season. I have said on a number of occasions that they are the best team we have played this season going on performances against us.

Our result doesn't look too bad now, does it? :p

And still Glenmen have trouble understanding basic English. You just can't seem to comprehend what domestic clean sweep means.

What I don't "comprehend", [can't swear here, can I?], is how a north-south cup is won in '62 and trumped as part of a 'clean sweep' and when the same cup is lost in '06, the same claim is made.
Or do all you girls use the prefix "domestic" now, except those that get tattoos?:p

So if the Glens had beaten Coleraine a few years ago in the Irish Cup Final would that not have been a clean sweep?

Quite simple really (even for a Glenman). The previous clean sweep was not simply a domestic one. The clean sweep last season was a domestic clean sweep ie we won every domestic trophy available to us. You Glenman really do have difficulties understanding basic English. Now over to you. If Glentoran had beaten Coleraine a few seasons ago in the Cup Final was that a clean sweep?

Saw that on TV alright (Final score Northern Ireland). Was actually in Belfast for the weekend but the Mrs didn't fancy taking in an Irish league game for some reason!
Two penalty misses in one game is shocking. Linfield really missed out on the chance to significantly close the gap though.

We were playing Portadown though so a draw is not that bad a result and the gap is nothing to worry about either, three points behind with a game in hand.

Yeah that was the game I was hoping to persuade my wife she'd enjoy. No joy though. Probably just as well given the weather.

Seems I ain't the only one with a less-than-basic grasp of the English language, seeing as I asked you to explain why other boos referred to it as a 'clean sweep'.

If you are saying you never heard about these tee shirts then to be quite frank you are lying. I can honestly say that the first I heard of the ones you mentioned was on here when you posted that.

That's a bit rich coming from you.
And no, I'd never heard of the until someone posted this info on the ILF about 2 years later.
I think you'd be best sticking to whoring yourself around the various Eircom League forums eulogising your cheese'n'pickles nights before accusing others of being 'liars'.

There's no "conflict" .... re-read the tenses of the two statements. Please.
"Conflict" would be someone claiming to work alongside other fans for the betterment of the Irish League yet openely displaying - and stating - a hatred of one of it's constituent teams.
I wonder who that could be, eh?

No conflict there whatsoever as I have shown in the past. If the Glens or their supporters are being wronged I have no problem in saying so, again as I have done in the past.

Glens shown there worth again last night. The funniest thing is, they played Derry City and got beat, they played Drogheda and got beat and yet they come away saying, we dont fear visiting either of them teams because they are less than impressive. It just fooking well they where less than impressive or you could have been well and truely embarrassed. Oh and once again, very dissapointing attendance from you lot.

According to the official website, the official attendance at the game was 1162.
Was it because Chelsea and Man Utd where on tv and the weather was freezing and very bad? I don't know.
But I could tell you, there would have been 3 times the amount if the game was played at Windsor.(if our club would allow new supporters to come in)

Why would the Glens play Drogheda at Windsor......? :D ;)
City won't have as many fans at Windsor this evening as we did at the Oval unfortunately. Due to a variety of reasons - including the club office opening hours for selling tickets being all over the place.

Scrub what I said David - in true Derry fashion, there's been a last minute rush on tickets anwyay ! The club has sold out it's 1,000 allocation, and is now flogging vouchers that are being exchanged for tickets up at the ground.
1,200 in total sold by 3pm, with a few more sales doubtless to go ! Should be a cracking presence from the red n' white army !
Gutted I can't be there myself this time.....

No more discussion on the name of Derry. If I see it again there'll be more than a slap on the wrist.
