There were 336 people at the meeting; thankfully Patrick Dunne booked the Executive Suite function room at The Fox Plaza. It was agreed that the Trust must double its contribution to GUFC from €122k (2006) to at least €250k in 2007. RTE were there as they are making a programme about the Trust. Other than that, it was predictable enough.

Sorry lads, the above figures are exagerated. Paddyfields sense of humour has flown slightly over your head ;)

How could 336 people fit into Foxs ? Where would RTE fit the cameras ?

Actual attendance 28, very good for a Tuesday evening in January.
GUST gave the club direct funding of a substantial five-figure sum this year, our target next year is to increase this by 20%.

I will post a full report as soon as possible.

PD.

Chairman of GUFC, John Fallon addressed the meeting at 7.00pm, thanking the Trust for their co-operation throughout the year and looking forward to 2007. He said that our achievement in getting a place in the Premier Division would not have happened without the help of everyone at the club.

GUST Chairman, Ronan Coleman then addressed the meeting. He pointed out the successes of 2006, starting with the clubs promotion, but also including GUST highlights :
- E41,000 contributed directly to GUFC (not including merchandise, season tickets, etc)
- Very successful merchandise stands in local shopping centres
- Large amount of STs sold by members in both '06 and '07 campaigns
- Establishment of GUST LFC and continuation of Nightowls team, who won
First Division trophy
- Continued allocation of tickets to international games to our supporters
- Forming links with supporters other clubs by inviting them to Foxes for pre-match receptions
- Lotto draw continuing weekly, having paid out in excess of E20,000 in prizes in 2006
- The running of buses to most away matches and all home international games

He noted areas that needed to be improved for 2007, such as membership, numbers attending away games and our financial contribution. Target to GUFC for 2007 is E50,000.

William Furey then presented the accounts. Any paid up member who wants a copy can pm me. Membership forms were circulated on the night and are available from all committee members.

damo GUFC has listed the topics discussed at the AGM. These will be followed up at our next meeting on Tuesday 23rd January, in Foxs (7.00pm).

The following officers were elected for 2007 :

Chairperson : Ronan Coleman
Secretary : Jill Mooney
Treasurer : William Furey
Vice-Treasurer : Tom Timothy
Membership Officers : Conor Holland, Barry Hynes, David Creaven
GUST Delegate on GUFC management committee : Diarmuid Naughton

Thanks to all who turned up - a very productive night.
