Is this correct - are Limerick gone the way of Dublin City, Newcastelwest, James Gate, St Francis etc?

no they havent and wont. Somehow the will barely sneak the licence and will shelve out a fortune to the LDMC to play in what is arguably the worst league ground in Europe - Jackass Park.

I heard on the radio news this morning that they had failed in their licencing appeal I doubt that's the end of the story though.

On Newstalk this morning they suggest that Limerick would now have to take court proceedings if they wanted the decision to turn down a licence overturned. Not looking too good for them.

There's no arguing about it Partizan! :) I still think we're going to get our licence, Newstalk and the others are jumping the gun because they haven't heard anything official about it yet, so they're assuming the worst.

So the rumours were true. http://www.elevenaside.com/eircomleague/irish_soccer_detail.asp?newsid=25798
This would be a tragedy for irish football as for our new league to work i think we need big successful clubs in our big cities, just what i think.

I know it's of little consolation to Limerick fans but I am sure a Junior club or a new club will step into this vacuum in the new A Championship. Cork didn't stay without a football club for too long.

However, for the sake of the dedicated Limerick fans I hope your club can be saved.

Maybe that is whats needed in Limerick, a fresh start? It seems that preist dude won't give Drew the lease for Hogan Park, then a new entity with a substantial supporters backing could be a runner.
