IN todays mirror, it says we are chasing both Jim Crawford and John Lester.

ya i agree about murphy, he wasnt even able to get a game in the first and now he's suddenly offered a full-time contract, unlikely. disappointed bout o'dowd leaving, liked him as a player [and he'll always be welcome in fox's before and after the games]
and what about moran? i know he was own top scorer but he never proved himself, i think. any idea of who tony is hoping to bring in for up front?

news on signings and releases are being announced tomorrow. The only reason we know here is because Terry is pally with a few of the players.

Jim Crawford was top of my least admired opposition players when he was with Bohs. He was always looking to start something nasty, leading with elbows, all of that stuff. And now I might have to cheer him on? Oh no!

Still, maybe he's mellowed more in the passing years than I have!

billy dowdy raf nigel and mixie are supposed to be gone. if we dont sign conor gethins the we have probably lost 4 of our best players from last season in billy, goughy, raf and conor. they were all brilliant last season and we will need to bring in big players to replace them

Conor H
13/12/2006, 1:20 PM
I think Raf will stay.

Surprised Carters (no offence Franny) name isnt on it along with a few others, there must be another list coming up soon also?

i really hope that the 2 lads were wrong about raf leaving. he was only really there for half the season because of injury.

He was in the picture in the paper the other day.I was thinking when the last time he even featured!

If lester lost the weight and went full time i reckon he could be a decent prem player. good for takin set pieces at least

Bit surprised Dowdie is gone but I wouldn't have considered him Premier standard. Murphs should actually improve for the better football. He'd want to.
Best of luck also to Nigel and Mixie, who should find employment at Div 1 level.

R.Frawley,R.Cretaro, & J.Russell all offered contracts

Can't see all 3 committing tbh.Actually i'd be delighted if even one of them did.Preferably Cretaro then Russler.

you dont have to wait for the window to open if you are signing players who are out of contract, there will be an announcement today.

The league havent got the new Contracts printed yet hence the delay.Tony doesnt want any announcements until the players put pen to paper thats why all the other clubs are signing players on pre contracts.

According to some at Pats Barry Ryan has agreed a new deal

JW.
14/12/2006, 10:03 AM
What do you make of Barry Ryan Dodge? Everyone else seems to think he's better than I do.

Dodge
14/12/2006, 10:11 AM
Best in the league IMO. A huge loss if he goes. Way better than your beloved Forde ;)

JW.
14/12/2006, 10:17 AM
I beg to differ!
Can't imagine who we'll be signing for goalie now.

Dodge
14/12/2006, 10:23 AM
Might still be Ryan, you know this league...

Oh and Dean Delaney is available for free. Could do worse...

Terry
14/12/2006, 10:27 AM
well if we cant find anyone good enough, I suggest we start a "one more year campaign" for goughie !!

JW.
14/12/2006, 10:36 AM
Goughie will be a year older and in my view too slow for the pace of the Premier Division, albeit he'd be a very capable back-up.

Does anybody know why Ronan Frawley could not commit to the new full-time structure at United. It is a big pity as he is a class act in the Alan Hansen / Daniel Agger mode (yes, I di support Liverpool too)!

He will be a loss.

So John Russell,Barry and raf to get back about whether they are going full time or not.So it looks like at least 8 new players including 2 keepers.

Ronan had just moved jobs so its a pity he couldnt commit to full time.

Fran started a new job in Dublin towards the end of Last season so i doubt hes going to go full time.

If you supported Liverpool you wouldn't insult Hansen by having him in the same sentence as the other two.

Good to see the clear out though. It's sad that players have to get the chop but they were all first division standard anyway.

i strongle recommend Vinny O'Conner of West Utd (22 i think). he plays best as a wing back can play eider side or central, great at going forward, tall fairly strong, wicked shot. i think its testimony that west have good players considering there in last 32 of irish cup. ive played against both him and liam mckenna and think he has a better game. its an area too we need to beef up in da full back area. any1 connected with club check him out in last 32 in irish cup!
