That makes for depressing reading:(

Well the Setanta starts on Feb 26th so that's only 81 days;)

Do you think they'll let us know whether there is or not:confused: They might also want to check the dates with UEFA and plan for clubs playing more than two fixtures in Europe (apart from Shelbourne).

Alright, since 8it's always fun to look back on in November, who's your top 4 next season? ;)

If Bohs and Drogs both spend like it seems they will, I'd go for :

Drogs
Bohs
Derry
Cork

Obviously Derrys choice of manager will have an impact, and the question of whether they can keep the side together.

Pats to be 6th :(

Ah, good aul pointless close-season threads!

Can only go on soundings to date - indeed, don't even know who'll be in the Premier - but I'll go with...

1) Derry
2) Drogheda :(
3) Bohs (only if they spend money like they say they should be able)
4) Sligo
5) Cork (second season in a row they look like letting quality players go without replacing them)
6) UCD (maybe higher if we get Quigley and Kavanagh replaced; maybe lower if we get relegated on Monday!)
7) Shels (pending them losing the majority of the players that are linked with moves away and not being able to sign replacements)
8) Rovers (Scully is overdue for signing an entire new team, so can't predict them at all; wouldn't surprise me if they get a decent team together and finish top half.)
9) Pat's (Still not impressed with McDonnell despite the Cup Final and the good start to last year; pub money may help though)
10) Dundalk (I'm assuming normal promotion/relegation; Dundalk have a solid team and can build on that)
11) Longford (Been dropping the last couple of seasons; have lost a few decent players, crowds plummeting, etc)
12) Bray (Long way off the pace last year)

going and what I can see at the moment:

Drogheda
Bohs
Cork
Derry

in no particular order

Looks fairly accurate to me. i can't see us being anywere near as bad as we were last season. We have already got rid of the dead wood and started the rebuilding process with some fairly decent players. I think 9th will be the worst we will finish. If Drogheda can find a player who can get them 20 plus goals a season they will win the title.

Good to see people are still ruling us out!

Top three will be Derry, Bohs, Drogs. With Derry top.

Cork to finish in fourth again. Shels between 5th-10th depending on the size of the exodus.

for whatever difference it makes I'll go for a

1. Derry
2. Bohs
3. Drogs
4. Cork

in the Premier, and for the First Division

1. Limerick (out of sheer blind hope, so don't jump on me for it ;) )
2. Dundalk
3. Galway
4. Athlone

I love it!! Everyone writing us off already. Will make it sweeter when we win the league starring 14 U-21 players and a very overweight me :D

People are not writing you off at all. They just don't know if you will still be in business next season at all. And if you are all your League Championship winning squad may have flown the coop.

P.S. You being overweight come start of the season.... very unprofessional...:D

Since this thread is self- confessedly pointless let me add triviality; have all the dublin teams even finished in a bunch like that?

SligoBrewer

derry unfortunetly wont win the title nxt season much and all id like 2 c them win it (behind rovers of course!). ye do deserve 1, but not with a muppet like fenlon in charge. with the squad that was at his disposal at shels, they should have dominated the league...instead of nearly resorting 2 the courts

Based on all the re-arangements last year it will probably be the day of the game until you're certain it will be going ahead.:D
