Ouch, very tough draw. Despite Ireland topping their last group, including a much fancied Holland side, they'll do well in this group.

No indication of the host country yet, u-17s are in Germany

I think it's Hungary, it's usually the top seeds who host

I would think that germany would be the toughiest opponent... But havent said that they were seeded only 4th so im not sure!!!

Extremely interesting indeed. Anybody else on the under 17's worth looking out for? There should be a quality u-19 squad on show

German Federation site is obviously the best place to find out fixture dates :rolleyes:


Das Qualifikationsturnier findet in Irland statt. Spieltermine sind der 14., 16. und 19. Mai des kommenden Jahres.
U-19s next May, Ireland at home. The U-17s are in March (21-26th) in Germany, venues not decided yet.


"Das ist eine lösbare Gruppe, auch wenn es in der Elite-Runde eigentlich kaum noch leichte Gegner gibt", erklärte DFB-Trainer Frank Engel nach der Auslosung. Als stärksten Gegner hat Engel nicht zuletzt wegen des Heimvorteils Gastgeber Irland ausgemacht: "Wenn wir uns qualifizieren wollen, müssen war aber auch diese Hürde nehmen."
Also the German coach reckons we're the greatest threat, not just because of home advantage.
