Ger is 17/18 and played most if not all of his schoolboy footy with the Dines.

He is apporx 6ft and is a goalkeeper, also played with CBS, and also with Dines Junior team on a few occassions last season.

Good lad on and off the pitch, and the very best of luck to him.

Ger becomes the 3rd Dines player in the last decade to sign for a porfessional club.

Yes, I think Dines should take a lot of the credit and fair play to them.
They look after their schoolboy and youth teams.

what other players in last 10 -15 years have gone across the water from local clubs and who has made a success of it

Also who was good enough but did not go over?

I suppose Willie Boland is the best??????? made a good living for nearly 15 years , Coventry, Cardiff etc.....

Paul Dillon signed for Rotherham.
Brian O'Callaghan signed for Barnsley, then Notts County.
Bobby Ryan signed for Limerick, then Galway, the Bohs, and now Shels.
Niall McNamara signed for Notts Forest with Andy Reid, and is now playing conference footy.

If he signed for Limerick FC then yeah, it's great news for football in Limerick but how does him signing for a Scottish club boost football in Limerick?
