Sligo Rovers U-21 side were beaten 2-0 by Salthill-Devon in the semi-final of the Dr. Tony O'Neill League which was played in Drum this afternoon with a strong breeze affecting playing conditions. Richard Brush was by far the busier of the two keepers as he produced three good saves in the first half to keep Salthill-Devon at bay. However three minutes into first half stoppage time and the home side took the lead as Vinny Faherty headed home from close range. Despite having the wind behind them in the second half Rovers failed to create any chances and Salthill doubled their lead when Mickey Gilmor scored in the 52nd to secure their place in the final.

Sligo Rovers U-21: Richard Brush, Seamus Coleman, Emlyn Mulligan, Colin Gaule, Sean Kelly, Colin Ryan, Gary Curran, Mikey Creane, Oisin Mannion, Ferdinand Soundjok, Gary Finan.
