Have just read in the match preview on rte's websites that Alan Mc Dermott has signed on for next season.
http://www.rte.ie/sport/2006/1111/kildare.html

So thats Alan Byrne, Philly Gorman and Alan Mc Dermott with County next season.

Can anyone get onto the clubs website as well?. Know its been slow but can't get on at all now?

Good to get those 3 signed up.

I would imagine Kennedy, Mulcahy and Scully will be all let go and I think Cooling will go to a bigger club so that should give Ryan some money to play with. How he spends that money will shape Kildare's season next year.

We need a strong central midfielder and a decent goalkeeper.

The young lads coming through need to be nutured along and not to be relied on to play every game. They are getting better, Paul Rigney and Eoin Kavanagh had their best games for Kildare in the win over Kilkenny (although Kilkenny were terrible) and a full pre-season will help them even more but we badly need some real experience in the team.

Don't know about Scully would say he might stay on. We defineitly need a new goalkeeper because there have been to many goalkeeping errors this season, but it will be very difficult to find a keeper thats proven in the Eircom League.

Philly Bryne and Alan have looked far more solid as a defensive unit since July.

Would like to see Cooling remain as well but if he does leave I hope County get some sort of fee for him and that they didn't just sign him on a one year contract at the start of this season.

Scullys already gone.
Phil will be signing on again so thats the centre of defence sorted.
Ian Maher, on loan from St Pats, has also left the club. This was why Colin (Ossie) Osbourne got his chance at right back.
Keeper for next year will be John Flynn.
Its great that we will have three Kildare forwards in P Gorman P Mahon and T Bowers.
I have to agree with you on the central midfield. Would like to see Cooling stay but we really need someone in the middle who doesnt go AWOL. Its probably a year too early for Matt Rigney but he's defo one for the future.

Is the money saved on Kennedy, Mulcahy (two of last season's biggest earners or so I have heard), Cooling and Scully going to be put back into the team or will Ryan's budget be cut even further?

Has Scully moved to another club or was he just released.

Have just read on one of the threads on the eircom league section that Cooling might be going to Pats and that County may be signing someome from Cherry Orchard called Philip Sheppard, also linked Philly Gorman to Dundalk but he has just signed on for County for another year, these are all just rumours anyway.

Hmm, intresting stuff. Dissapointed Scully left, i thought he was a very good player on his day, Good to see Philly & Alan are staying with us. If Cooling does leave, it wouldnt suprise me, we better get some sort of fee for him, he was fantastic this year.

And I think that Phillip Sheppard lad, is a striker that used to play for St.Pats........

Sheppard played for Kilkenny under Scully and then went to rovers with him at the start of the season but was let go not long into the season. He is very quick, wouldn't be a bad signing. He could have been with Pat's at one stage too

Don't Dave Scully will be missed, an absolutely infuratiating player who ran with his head down most of the time, although he probably wasn't helped by having to play on the left wing most of the time.

We won't be getting a fee for Cooling as I would imagine he only had a one year dear

Well, it would stop him scoring against us for a start!!! He has three goals against us this season as far as I know. Him and Sheppard would be decent additions to the frontline but from what I have heard, money is extremely tight so we mightn't see that many new players.

By the way, what's up with the club's website - it's been down for a week now

Willie Doyle would be a good signing for Kildare. He scored plenty of goals at UCD and for the short while he was at Rovers.

Website has been pretty slow before this happened and was up for only a short last Monday before going again. Maybe they are going to have to do up a new one. Very odd though.

Ian Malone did well this year when he played. I would definitly see him being part of next years plans. Unfortunatly for him he didnt play as much as he would have like this year because of injury. Good player though and one who will be pushing Philip Byrne and Alan Mcdermott for a starting slot next season.

Colin Osbourne is from the Under-21 side. Played against Kilkenny City and had a good game.
Can't help you with Murphy wasn't in Monaghan and can't remember the name in the under 21 team. Wondering if it is a typo and they mean Paddy Mahon?.

Colin Osbourne, aka Ossie. Under 21 player who has being playing right full back for the past few weeks. Very good prospect and will most probably be right full next year.
Murphy,aka Paddy Mahon. Need I say more?:D
