Brian Lennox is ending his tenure as Chairman of Cork City FC and will be replaced by a consortium. The details have yet to be disclosed but it's rumoured to involve the son of o local property developer. There are going to be a lot of changes at the club during the closed season.

Hopefully it will mean that we can continue as a professional club. Last night was a glimpse of what we're capable of.

Thanks for everything you've done, Brian.

Its true for what was said, our season never got started ... we are still waiting for us to get going. Losing Lennox is a huge lose and its a tall order to fill his boots. I dunno can it actually be done, but we'll have to wait and see.

The last consortium was a fantastic success...

I think that whatever plan is going to take shape its without Rico, sadly ..... because Rico is by far a better manager in every single aspect than the rumoured new manager.

Part-time, i hope not because the club is a million miles from its potential and its would be a shame not to see it get there.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Bloody hell, between Connor, Rico and Fenlon all being free (and throw Collins and Dolan into the mix as well) and Cork, Derry, Shels and Bohs all looking for replacements, the managerial merry-go-round could be more interesting than the player transfer market in the off-season.

Its been a hugely successful 5 years under Brian Lennoxs leadership.
- Almost fulltime playing staff
- MFA building shed stand
- Best run match day in the league.
- 1st round of Uefa Cup
- League Champions
- Training grounds from City Council.

I must say i was impatient about the speed we moved to fulltime playing staff but in hindsight Lennox was proven correct as need to ram up slowly as fund dictate.

5 years is a long time to have full responsibility of club with such demanding supporters. Its great that he has been able to hand over to new investors at a reasonably stable state - these things tend to happen in the past when a massive crisis.

AFAIK Lennox is likely to be on a new management committee.
Most successful era in Citys history, especially considering where we were when he bought out the clowns who were running the show before him.

He's also probably lost a huge sum of his personal finance to keep the club sailing and made brave decisions in the hiring and firing of staff.
Thanks Brian.

It seems Fenlon has a job offer from England, Dolan is now a full time presenter/pundit, Rico is going to Shels, Connor to Bohs and Roddy is unemployable...:ball:

Bad news for Cork. Hopefully for them the new guy has the same sensible approach to the league.

Nutsy is the rumour I heard. PM if different aface ;)

Not a snowballs chance in hell!
You're just stirring now.
I nearly got banned for linking Roddy with Shels. Think I should report you for this.

That aint good for the heart at all, Fenlon ..... in Cork ..... Fenlon ???
I dont want to say anything that i might regret though seeing and anything could happen at this stage, even our worst nightmare, seeing Fenlon at the cross.

I like it!
Been off the boards for a while, frying smaller fish. Is POTM still running? If so, this post by Peadar is a contender, IMHO.

I can imagine Rico heading back to Dubland since that is where he is from. But how can Shels attract a manager of Rico's calibre at a time when their finances are gone down the toilet?
I would like to see us going down the player-manager route with Colin O'Brien at the helm.

A better question would be; What options does Rico have? Not many...

Well he did alright before City writing a few columns, he'll get by i'd say if he wasn't managing. Thats the impression i got from him anyway, that he wouldn't take a job unless he actually wanted it. Its not the only feather in his cap so to speak.

Hopefully he'll get the option to stay with City. He verbally agreed a two year contract with Lennox so I'd like to see the new owners honour that.

Rico is out of contract at end of current season. Verbally agreed to extend for 2 more.
