Cork City supporters trust to launch on Friday
FORAS - the new Cork City Supporters Trust (Friends of Rebel Army Society) will officially launch on Friday (10th November) at Turner's Cross.
The new trust will be signing up new members and spreading their message in the build-up to Friday's eircom League game with Shelbourne. The aims of the group include the "Guardianship of Cork City FC" and they hope to provide funding and support for the club.
"Winning the league last year, the excitement it generated and the quality of the football played by Cork City FC over the last few years left us in no doubt that professional football can continue to be a huge success in Cork." says FORAS spokesperson, Sonya O'Neill. "We want to give our team that competitive edge and ensure that we can contribute to professional football in Ireland. Cork City FC is more than a club, it is a vital part of our community. That community is now ready to ensure that football in Cork is safeguarded and that generations to come will continue to watch the Rebel Army."
