PRESS RELEASE.

KELLY LEAVES DERRY CITY TO JOIN TRANMERE ROVERS.

Derry City Football Club this morning have announced that David Kelly has been appointed Assistant Manager at Tranmere Rovers.

Since David agreed to join the City Club, he has played in ten games and scored twice.

Commenting on the move City Manager Kevin Mahon said

“It is a severe blow particularly at this time whilst we are preparing for crunch league games and of course the F A I cup final next week. However I fully understand the position that David was in. He probably would have retired at the end of this season and opportunities such as this do not come along very often.

We will be talking to David and Tranmere Rovers as to David’s availability for the FAI Cup final.”
