All right lads. Sean Connor is no longer manager of Sligo Rovers. Sean Connor no longer has any significance for Sligo Rovers. I'm not going to spend any more time or effort wondering about what he does next. Whether or not he was a good manager is now irrelevant. We have more important things to think about.
1. Find a good manager.
2. Make sure players worth keeping are nailed down to contracts. If some of our best players aren't, then the sooner we get a good manager, the better.

So who do we keep, actually, who can go?
O'Hara will leave id say aswell as Burns.
But i wouldnt mind if Keith Fat,Mansaram,McKenzie,Faz,Judge or Brush go...
He was always raving on about how good Faz is,so if he is that good bring him with you.

Will be interesting to see if Sean brings Faz and Choice with him wherever he goes, after all the "talking up" he did about them.
I wouldn't mind Choice staying for the first part of next season anyway, give him a chance of playing regularly and if he's ****, then go.

Choice is one of teh best players we have but Sean didnt really like him thats why he never got a chance.
A good manager/motivator would make him one of the best players in the league.

the only players he'll bring are o'hara, burns and maybe mansaram
planning without them now is essential.
the board need to renew contracts now.
the new manager has acquired a good squad, the spine of which will remain, but whoever he is, he must be young.
i can't see an old manager taking us to success.
he must be fresh, maybe gerry carr or gareth if they have the required badges.
i couldn't care less bout sean now, he's been and gone. hope bohs lose their new stadium to planning permission or something like that, taking the club as afar as it could is a lie. sure bohs have money but they are 9th in the table and spending will be capped by the fai from next year.
the club needs to move on from sean.he's left us in quite a bad fashion.
but lets move on and concentrate on giving all the players our support next tuesday night against shels

When did 'Foy for Ireland' become 'Keith Fat'?

we should make a real effort to get a good crowd in on Tuesday and show them that we couldnt give a **** that he is gone, and if someone isnt pulling there weight ie,Mansaram,Faz and Foy,that they can fcuk off with him.

When did 'Foy for Ireland' become 'Keith Fat'?
slowly over the past month or two.
He has start to put on weight again and is getting slower and lazier by the minute.

When did 'Foy for Ireland' become 'Keith Fat'?When he lost all interest in playing for Rovers and decided to spend more time in the casino than attempting to get fit.

When did 'Foy for Ireland' become 'Keith Fat'?
When, about two-thirds of the way through the season, he started putting even more weight on, and playing like he wasn't bothered.

I did notice tonight he was heavier than earlier this season and a lot less effective.:o

We need to keep hold of Burns a real class defender.

Keeping Burns is more important than keeping McNamara, I reckon.

Yea it is , Burns is our best player in my opinion.

When did 'Foy for Ireland' become 'Keith Fat'?
since half of our fickle fans who built him up at the start of the season decided to turn against him.

I think a lot of our players will leave, if it is true that the board want to cut costs

Tell him i'll give him my savings to buy the house and stay with Rovers! My mothers a bank manager too so i'll try and get him a cheap mortgage! By far and away our best player, really need him here. A class defender and one of a few players who gets things organized on the pitch.

Just wondering if Leo Tierney would be a possible caretaker manager for us again. I think himself and GG could steady the ship until we get a new manager.

think he will take manseram singh burns and turner with him..the rest will become disillusioned too probably
the resurgence of the club in the last 2 years couldnt have happened without mr connor, now we need someone who is established and willing to take us to where we want to go and wont jump ship because we are only a stepping stone..we need someone who wants to take us to the top.no longer time for the likes of cotterill sanchez and connor..time for someone who is sligo rovers through and through
sean connor put pressure on the board to keep the ambition going..and thats what we need now
i know this is another debate but get rid of that clown[coming from someone who impersonates a clown so i ****ing know] of a commercial manager who can raise some serious cash for the club..people are willing to contribute to the club..make it happen management commitee...if leitrim gaa can attempt to raise 1.5 million euro cant we get something to attract the best players to the club instead of rejects from england who are short term solutions...
we need someone to push on now....im actually hoping we finish 7th now to allow us to aim for top 5 next season without it being an expectation....the rebuilding in the next 5 months will be tough because we have been left a bad time.....get someone in now and build a new squad...
sean connor had a lot of flaws but he had passion ambition and craved success....we need someone like that again but with the intention of making it for sligo rovers, not themselves...
it s hard to talk like this long because ffs sean was a bit of a legend in my eyes but we have to move on now and quickly now because if we dont we could be back where we started again very quickly
bottom line...we the fans played a bit part in what was achieved in the last 2 years...will the players that did stick around now to show they were doing for the club..time will tell....but people need to make decisions fast...

he better saty and score the goal he promised me last night!
What we need now, is a young manager, who has roots in Sligo, is based here, and will set up a proper and functioning youth system that fell apart under Seanie C...
Should I apply for this?I'm ambitious, talented, loyal, am Sligo through and through and professional.
