Sean made it pretty clear that he wanted to resign and that there was another, unspecified club he wanted to join. The only way I can see him staying at Rovers is if that job somehow fails to materialise or come up with the terms he thinks he should get there. That's hardly the kind of commitment I want to see from a manager who will have a hard enough time as it is consolidating on this season's progress.
I think Connor did a good job with Rovers - up until the time his interest in Bohs started to circulate. If you look at our slump in results/performances, it dates almost exactly to that time. There seems to be little doubt that he took his eye off the ball, which is totally unprofessional.
It's a pity, but I now think him staying would not be healthy for the club. Ambition is fine, but as long as you're in a job, you should be giving it 100%, and communicating that to the players.
We're out of the Cup, we can't get into Europe; Rovers' building for next season should be starting now. Do we want Connor in charge of that building process if his mind is constantly on his prospects elsewhere?
What if he gets an attractive offer a month before the start of next season?
He did a good job, but I don't want him at the club if he's not interested in putting in a full season. If he doesn't commit before the last game against Bray to focus 100% on Rovers until the end of next season, he should be shown the door.

I agree with five, when all the talk about Bohs and the new money started, I was suprised how quite Connor was. I think he make one 'tounge in cheek' comment about him not being connected with the job.

This is all about timing, if Bohs are interest in him and a deal was done then why didn't he stay quite about it untill or last 4 games are finished and avoid all this. I know he has not 'said' anything official, but someone must have said something if there was a commitee meeting lastnight and training was called off.

The way this has been handled reflects poorly on Connor, and he should probably go now if he will committ to the club.

fivesilver spot on.Sean Connor didnt realise how close to real success he was this season if he kept his focus.
