You don’t easily forget games like that. It was very very disappointing. If you go out of the cup, you’d far prefer to go out one nil than five nil. But look, we have to move on. Derry were beaten in a cup semi final last year, and they’ve made it one step further this time out.
People lose perspective after a result like Tuesday’s. We’re still a very young side. We’ve played a lot of games, not as many as Derry, but with a small squad that takes its toll.
The boys have been magnificent all year and have done everyone at the club proud. We’re realistic though. We still have a job to do to stay in the top five and so we’ve got to get back on track on Friday night against UCD. It’ll be a tough one – UCD have beaten us twice already this season, but we’re due a result, we’re due a few goals, and I’m hoping that they come on Friday:rolleyes:

After reading this thread Conor Kenna has reversed his request to be "rested" for this one. His knees might stop quaking in time for the game.;)

fair play to connor for not even come over to applaud the hardcore of rovers support that put the effort in to go to belfield even though the season is over. speaks volumes of the man's character. also on radio 1 afterwards he didn't even say thanks to the supporters or the club for the 2 years he had at the club

in fairness, where we were (behind the dugout) he came over and shook our hands and thanked us for coming...
