and one of them´s jamaican :D
not a strong squad, i suppose he´ll throw doherty on up front with ten minutes left and get the equaliser
Amoung the outfield players at least 5 bench warmers too - maybe they'll be fresh then.

The negativity and pessimism from you guys is just startling. Who else would you suggest is selected up-front? Connolly and Sadlier are both injured as far as I know. No doubt you're going to suggest an eL player but lets be honest - if they were up to international standard they wouldn't be playing eL would they?
You might not like McCarthy and he's certainly not perfect but tell me an international manager who is.
At least recognise when his options are limited.

Thats what I was pretty much doing- his options are limited= pessimism!

I'm not even going to start the eL debate however IMO McCarthy should have called up another forward or two no matter if they choices no.7 & 8.
It is still better to have an actual club forward at whatever standard than using Doherty as a make shift version. Doherty ain't a forward (some may say not a very good defender either if watching current form) so anybody else is a better option.
yeah, goals are the same size and shape in every game after all. form is the really important thing for a striker.

In that case lets get Finbarr Nyhan from Ballydehob FC in the West Cork league.....hes got an average better than a goal a game for the last 9 years....
But seriously, Docherty may not be a striker but he did have an impact in Moscow. I think 2 from Duff, Keane, Morrison and Docherty is a reasonable selection given the options available.

Yeah he let the rest of the team use the hoof cop out + while he did score a goal he could as easily scored that while playing centre back.

nice one :) but finbar aint scoring that many this season so far
why not go with John Christopher Keohane from the mighty Ilen Celtic .. 6 goals from 6 games.. the mans onform
O'Brien & Kenna have pulled out & Delap carrying an injury.
Think that leaves no more than 17 outfield players - strange no replacements called up yet.
Hes only got 7 defenders left now ;)

With Carr and Finnan out, Kelly is likely to play right full. Whose going to play right midfield? I'd like to see him put Duff there. He did great against Spain on the right.
Delap is out now so revised squad of...

Only 16 outfield players left now - apparently hes going to call up some u-21 players for cover. Considering the best u-21 players are likely to play 90mins on tuesday seems strange he hasn't called them up already.
John O'Flynn for Ireland
:)
