Tonights Herald article is complete fiction. I'm shocked at McGlue for the depths he will go to to save his own skin and that of Menton. And I'm even more shocked at a LOI fan (Fitzmaurice) being taken in by this crap or being bitter/nasty enough to mislead the public and blacken the name of the game in this fashion.

the whole thing looks worrying. if it´s true it´s frightening, if it´s not, it´s appalling. either way a dark moment for the league.

It's not true. It's a disgrace.

I think the whole Rovers-Bohs security hassles is overstated. I know the FAI are in some form trying to probably justify their insistence on playing the semi final on sunday but publicity like this isn't exactely going to encouarge more people to eL games.

Was ar Bohs v Rovers league game at Dalymount earlier this year myself & didn't see any trouble or that many guards. Was so few rovers fans would have been hard to start anything anyway...

Thats exactly what it stinks of- and if thats what they´re up to it´s beyond belief

Truth hidden in a large slice of fiction, methinks. A poorly written article though, you have to expect more from Fitzmaurice. However, nothing about the FAI trying to save face should surprise anyone. The Herald were obviosly fed false info from soneone, and took it hook line and sinker. Remeniscent of the article in The Star about Rovers in Sotckholm for fiction.

Yeah apparently the Star pretty much printed word for word a phone conversation from a Rovers fan in Sweden without ever checking the facts or the person calling... - they then stick it on the front page.

Just as well irish journalism isn't as bad the british variety.

thats because we don´t need the likes of the Sun and the Mirror to slag our International Manager off over his nationality- we´ve got plenty of idiot "fans" willing to do it for them

Tabloids over here may not be as bad as the English variety, but they are getting there.

Like I told you before Jaime the Star article was largely fact. I tjust ran incidents together ie The Bohs and Loyalist stuff was seen at the ground rather than outside the pub. The rest; families and old people being abused/intimidated outside while the mob was inside, the Rovers fans kicking the window out and backing Djurgardens up the road was all true. The Star checked with at least 2 Rovers fans. Fitzmaurice is a Bohs fan himself and should have realised the story was nonsense. It amazes me thateveryone (Bohs, Rovers, various SCs and IFU) are letting McGlue away with it.
