Time to re-group guys.

Shake off all this depression and think ahead.

We play Derry next week - in Derry. Piece of cake. They will be so wrapped up in the Final now, their minds won't be in the game. Plus we owe them a thumping - 3 pts to City.

The Drogs at home - enough said. Owe them a thumping also. Plus they're going through a worse crisis than us - 3 pts to City.

We must play Pat's in the Cross ( re-arranged from Friday night ) within the next few weeks also - boy, do we owe them one. Can only be one result - ( Osam to be doubtful ) 3 pts to City.

Then we have Bohs @ home. In fact we have to play them twice more. Big, big games. We have nothing to loose. We are now the underdogs so lets throw caution to the wind and start playing like we did for the first 9 games. If we win this ( plus our game in hand ) and continue the form above we could be right back in it by Christmas.

Bohs are going to drop points - mark my words. Particularly against the other Duuuuubieeeeen teams.

Prediction .......our game against Bray at Christmas to be one to send us to the top of the table. And we do it!

HOW ABOUT THAT......!

every year its the same, theres always a few who refuse to accept that the season is as good as over until its mathematically impossible for city to do anything special.

the best we can hope for now is second, hurrah second again what a laugh. i know theres plenty out there who will say stuff like "second would be a real achievement, young side etc etc" and "sure there are plenty teams who would love to be second" and so on.

bull****.

we had an opportunity for actual success this season as opposed to the usual half assed variety. i for one am tired of it. theres is absolutely no chance we will eclipse bohs now unless something drastic happens within that club. having gone out of the cup kenny is professional enough to ensure that will not happen, and murphy not good enough to make any impact anyway. im sure he's a good coach of younger players and i would actually like to see him remain in the club for that reason, but i think its clear he is not up to managing the first team for a variety of reasons.

for all our early season promise i would trade rovers crap league position and cup final appearance for another second place finish which will be heralded as a great success, "liam murphy brings european football back to the cross" and all that usual palaver.

if you believe otherwise you are kidding yourself, imho.

wish I could agree with ya counting crow, but I wouldn´t be too surprised to see us suffer a major hangover from that cup exit. Murphy has not shown any talent for getting us out a rut without the help of an end of season break, so don´t be surprised if we don´t win away all season- save maybe a token win away to some relegated team.

Might be all three or none at all. Whatever way you look at it, he's not all there. Fact is Citys season ended at exactly 9:48 last Friday night when the final whistle was blown and we were knocked out of the Cup. Feels s**t, don't it? No League since '93, no Cup since '98, no trophy at all since '99, no Europe last season and probably this season as well. I rest my case.

Murphy Out Now!!!

don´t be surprised if we scrape in to the intertoto again by the skin of our teeth, and gunther hails it as a triumph against all the odds of: injuries, referees against us, bent crossbars, and all the other excuses he´s come up with

The Cup exit was gutting but we were never going to win the league. The manager is not good enough. Have to agree with Eanna. In the past, under Gunther we have got into losing runs and they have been very hard to get out of.

Hloy $**t - you guys must be a barrel of laughs to go for a few scoops with.

I can almost see the clouds of despair hanging over your gaffs.
Talk about missing the point.
What are you all going to do for the next number of weeks at the games - spend the 90 mins moaning and shouting "Gunther Out" when you know deep down ( no matter what we all want ) it ain't gonna happen.

It's at times like this that the players need the fans more than any other.

SO LIGHTEN UP AND GET BEHIND THEM.

Let's not be like the GAAAAAAAAAA crowd and only turn up for the glamour ties.

Oh, and another thing I'll buy a pint for each of you who have rplied to this thread ( up to now ) after the Bray game in December if we're not still in the top 3 of the League - Turners Cross Tavern.

How about that for optimism.

LOUIS WALSH FOR MANAGER.
At least the music at half time would be better.

Oh, go on - you're the last one in.

But that's it - no one else.

By the way, Dalo, Counting Crows would wipe the floor of your favourite bands ( Westlife, S-Club 7, Atomic Kitten etc )
At least my guys can play instruments with more than 2 strings.

Looking forward to having those pints with you though.

Counting Crow speaks with great wisdom.

"Bohs drop 2 points in Dublin derby"
"City grind out win in terrible conditions"

Plenty of more "Dublin derby's" to go yet. Plenty of more points to "drop".

We ain't out of it yet.

We could potentially be just 5 points behind in 3 weeks time with the game in hand and the home tie against them coming up.

Roll on Christmas..........!

I'm gonna keep this thread alive.

So far so good - Bohs drop 2 more points.
City get 7 points out of possible 9.

Win on Friday and Monday next and we are just 3 points adrift.

Don't you just love Duuuuuuubeeeeeeen Deeaaaarbeeeees.

Even The Examiner got into it on Saturday when wrinting on the Bray game.

Now there's a first.
