I don't think the French one is that special, 'être honête', its just good running rugby. I think I may have scored one like that myself when I was at school (maybe!)

The Barbars one is much better, displaying much better skill from much deeper on the pitch and then a real injection of pace only right at the very end.

(However, IMO you can only really judge whether a try is good (or great) in the context of the particular match. Rugby is all about the battle you have with your opponents over the course of 80 minutes)

Bearing in mind that time had elapsed on the French, and they and All Blacks both knew that the game was over when the ball went dead, I'm gonna go for the French one.

Baa-Baas had less handling, and was early in the game when the All Blacks were still cold. Still a great try, obviously.

I am bemused by the lack of smilies to accompany this post. Firstly, I reckon you only ever scored one like that when you were dreaming... I'd lay serious money on that.

Secondly, there is equal skill if not more shown and pace shown from almost the same starting position (deep inside your own 22), and the full back was hardly crawling at the end when going over, was he?

Context of these particular matches: The ba-ba's games are always a celebration of free flowing rugby. These scores are expected. The French score came in a really big game. Theres your context.

French try wins hands down....but the ba-ba's one will always be the one that gets remembered.

French one for me. Agree fully with JoeSoap's assessment.
