First post. But following foot.ie for a long time!
Ireland fan for many's a year. Have plenty to say and will get stuck in soon but right now immediate problem is
I go to every match I can, a 2 hour drive each way and a day off work to boot. (or a bad chest infection if Leave is used up!)
Still havent sussed a good safe place to park where I wont get clamped or broken into. Wil get there round about 4.30pm as usual. Any suggrestions? Not public transport.
Thanks

Park near the coaches, across the canal from the Mespil Hotel.

Park down by the AIB bank centre , right turn as your headingi towards town. I've been parking there for years no problem. Don't park in the Hockey Pitch, rip off merchants..

Am tempted but this is one of the most important matches we will ever play at Lansdowne for a whole host of reasons, not just the obvious ones.

either MI or N2, both as handy.

There is a GAA club on the left as you come down Haddington road but it costs E5. There is some parking just outside it but i wouldnt risk it myself.

a longer walk to the ground/pub but you avoid most of the traffic Have parked closer but you end up being stuck in traffic. Been back at Newry at 23.00 normally and have never left the ground before the whistle.

I'd say the best place is around Macken Street/Lower Grand Canal street area. That's where I live and there's plenty of places around here. Actually, opposite my house is a square for residential parking which is full during working hours with a load of office workers. No sticker needed at all, you just drive in and you should get a space at 4.30. If not, you'll always get spaces in Ablana Villas or just opposite Macken street flats. I assume you only need a parking ticket up until a certain time.

From there it's just a 5 minute walk to Bathavanue.

Theres a spot around the corner from scruffy murphys off mount st within 25 min walk of the ground if you are in the east stand or north terrace.

I'd get from Lansdowne to Stephen's Green in 25 minutes. ;)

Go down the M1 and park in Clontarf DART station and get the DART over
