I was chatting O Grady last week and he was saying the Derry lads didnt fancy a trip to the Showground! If we are going to win it we have to beat good teams like Derry city!Plus they will bring a great crowd and the atmosphere will be savage!

Best possible draw as regards attendance. Hopefully it'll be on a Sunday as Derry would bring even more than they will on the Friday.
Should be a good advertisement on telly aswell, it's gonna be tough, but come on Rovers!:)

Foyzer will be hoping McCourt is injured for this one.
McCourt was around him the last day, until a miracle pulled Paddys hamstring, which helped us greatly in winning the game.

McCourt hasn't been living up to his own high standards lately though! Still good, but aint as good as he was.

Hope people don't think sure i'll watch it on the TV.. Hope they build a couple camera stands that won't take up alot of seats and/or standing space with good views. Will defo have the dvd player recording it...

AFAIK ye will have the Jinks Ave (blue) stand, so thats approx 900 seats + 100 standing upper end.

You reckon we could get approx 1000 tickets? That's good. Was starting to panic I may not get one. Hopefully the 'sponsors' of DC give the Season Ticket holders a chance of getting hold of these tickets. We probably could have taken around 1500 - 2000 down to it though. Will be a cracking atmosphere, and I cant wait.

ye would be lucky to get 1000 tickets. If capacity is 7000,their not going to give 1/7 of the tickets to away fans.ye will probably get 6-700.

I here tere is only 5500!And Derry are getting 1000.So that only leave,s 4500 for the rovers fans!I think these tickets could be like gold dust!

I heard (relatively reliable source) the FAI have capped the attendance at 6000 for the match, with an allocation of 1500 for City Fans. From the Shed round to the Southern Hotel side of the Railway end is to be all Rovers with Derry getting the Blue stand and the Terrace behind the goals (Churchill), I have managed to get a couple of tickets already, they are very poor quality you’ll need to look after them, they are going on general sale on Wednesday.

heard the same re crowd apart from the derry allocation..heard it was more
ill be guarding mine with my life when i get it!they should sell out pretty quickly
with at least 1500 derry fans we'll find it tough to outsing them....we will though!

i have it on good authority that on friday fai capped crowd at 5500 but health and safety came back today and reduced it to 5000 (i kid you not) also there are only 250 tickets available at student prices (i think e8.00) available at jacko sport from today (monday). also some work has to be done at railway end (barriers) and a wall built (i think along blue stand (not so sure exactly where) this is not lies this is fact. go out and get your tickets now before its to late!

We will have all the sunshine supporters up for this one!And the like,s of us lads here will be left outside with no tickets.Sligo brewer had a good idea. They should have given out vouchers for the tickets to the lads that go week in week out!

i thought derry would have 1500 at most,2000 is pretty much the whole of the new stand!! the railway end will have to be opened too....wonder why they dont just open it for every game???

17/10/2006, 12:55 PM
If it's true that we're are getting so many tickets, it must be some kind of rule because of it being a semi-final.
Other wise Sligo are making a very generous gesture.

Rovers have obviously jumped the gun on this, and the health and safety crowd have caught up with them restricting the crowd.

Started with a 4-5-1, looking for the draw, ironically the goals down to defensive mistakes.

4-0 - Ouch.
Hard to find any positives, but bugger it, that's what being a supporter is about.
Look at it this way, no matter how professional they are, Kenny's going to have his work cut out keeping complacency at bay. We've nothing to lose now. Nobody's expecting anything but an easy Derry win on October 29th.

Did O'Connor start his strongest 11? maybe planning on the cup semi?
Or, Have the engines burned out of some of the players as it was definitely not a result I was expecting!
