Well Lads - Lets be havin ya

Out of all the predictions for Cyprus only Sub of the day, DrPepper, Blobbyblob, Roger Milla and Dublin12 went for the Cyprus Win. There were 23 Ireland wins and 7 draws. Thats 33% went for a draw or worse against Cyprus - Crazy stuff

I go for 1-3 Czech Win with boos and walk outs after going 1-0 down.

0-3 to the Czechs,I can see us playing alot better, maybe hold them off until the second half but still don't think we have the manager to come up with the right tactics or ideas to challenge the Czechs for the full 90 minutes.Whereas their manager has seen it all before and this Ireland test should be a walk in the park for his team and his tactics.

I predict.......a riot!

2-1 IRELAND win. Ireland go one up inside 10 mins through a Robbie Keane penalty. Czechs to draw level before half time, through a defensive blunder, culprit: o shea. Second half, Ireland go 2-1 up around the hour mark, through piece of magic from young Stevie Ireland. Then it's a tense half hour in purgatory.

I don't gamble but sometimes I'm tempted.
Doesn't 10/11 for a Czech win look good value?

I started off very pessimistic about this game, and I've gotten downhill. I don't really gamble much either, but I've E50 on this game.

Started off putting E20 on the Czechs to win at 10/11. Then I thought about the fact that we've just been hammered 5-2 by Cyprus, who were hammered 6-1 by Slovakia, who were hammered 3-0 by the Czechs, so I put E20 on the Czechs to win -1, which was 3/1. Then I remembered Richie Dunne was suspended and that we had no centre-back other than Andy O'Brien, who is clearly off form, and no defensive midfielder, so I stuck another tenner on the Czechs to win -2, which is 17/2.

Just hope Paddy Power don't tempt me with Czechs to win -3... :(

That's nice, betting against your own team.

Anyways, it'll be a 2-1 victory for us, Staunton will be hailed as a hero. Strangely enough, it'll be O'Shea with the winner off a Duff corner kick.

Don't see a problem with it. There's a difference between betting against my team and wanting them to lose. It's a consolation, in effect.

Can't see hammered (again). Got to imagine there is some bit of pride in the team to put up a fighting performance. Due to our lack of ability though and the fact that's it's unlikely our defence can hold out a quality attack like theirs, I'd say 1-0 to the Czechs with a goal mid-way through the second half.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong....

a 2 - 3 moral home loss.

Can't wait to see what excuse the ginger gaffa has for this one - he should be thrown under the first dart that arrives after the full time whistle has blown - with Delaney stuffed in his suitcase.

2-1 ireland.

anger from saturday has subsided a wee bit. We can not be that bad a team for 2 games in a row. if cyprus can beat us, surely we can beat czech's. (there's logic for ya!)

No Richard Dunne, nobody capable of marking Jan Koller, he scores a hat-trick in the Czechs 8-0 win! Delaney to resign, and Staunton and we all live happily ever after :D

Reason for pessimism. Paddy Kenny 2 Starts Goals Against 9 Goals Against per game 4.5; playing behind this $hit defence we now have. Logical conclusion We need to score 5 to get a draw. That's never going to happen against a quality defence with the best keeper in Europe.

Staunton will probably go balls out (or all out in case balls out isnt used in Ireland) and go for the win. A draw would probably be percieved as lucky (or the Czechs were off) and a loss would have the obvious repercussions. So, depending on how the players are feeling
Germany Game Mood: 2-0 to Ireland
In Between: 2-1, maybe 2-0 to the Czechs
Cyprus Game Mood: 4-0 to the Czechs (if were lucky)

I cant see us being as bad as we were against the Cypriots but I still dont think we will get anything out of the game.

It will be a spirited performance but we will lose it 0-2.

Stan will limp on as well.

Has never been as down beat going into a game home or away. Those Czech odds look like free money to me. 2 nil to the Czechs. Hope and pray I'm wrong...

Don`t know if things will be as bad as i first thought. The Czechs struggled to beat Wales at home, so i reckon it will be tight enough. 0-0 with Keane missing a penalty.

dunno bout this one. we cant surely be this bad for two games in a row... 1-0 to the Czechs, a moral loss, again from a lucky deflection or a rebound from Koller's arse.

Carsley has been held up as a saviour and i hope he is believin he is as good as some here think he is! We have no central defenders and Henderson in Goals. THe czechs will using our goals for target practice! I hope i am wrong but i believe 3-0 Czechs and thats hopin we line the Goals for 90 minutes!

PS - Stauton will be out by Friday ---- Papers on Friday mornin "Stauton has resigned as Irish manager after ther worst start for a manager since the establisment of the National Soccer team!

We will have conceded 13 goals in five games - hardly a credit to a defensive minded manager!

Again, this is a bit of a misconception. I think Carsley would make as much a difference to our team as a 20 year old Roy Keane would make to the current Nottm Forest team. We might aswell have played Robbie Keane and Damien Duff in the centre against Cyprus as the midfield Stan fielded was a shambles. If Carsley plays it'll make a huge difference imo because he's the type of player that is vital in every team as much a central defender is vital in a team.
