The backroom staff thread got me thinking further- wondering what paid staff each club has for non-footballing activities and if they're full time or part time?

We have a Financial Controller/General Admin/Commercial Manager guy at Harps but the rest is voluntary.

I think bar Jim Roddy, Hugh McDaid and the Directors the rest are all voluntarily. Not too sure tho. The development committes are definitely voluntarily. And good hard work they all do too.

Derry

JR is the full time commercial manager.

We would have two office staff who are basically full time.

Out of curiosity, why does it matter?

It's just curiousity really, some people at Harps would have us try to get by with no admin staff and I was wondering what most other clubs where at.

I believe that to be professional on the field (in a sustainable manner) you must be professional off it.

Pretty much ditto for GUFC.Nick Leeson is commercial/general manager though.

Are those two boys at Derry who're 'basically full time' paid or are they voluteers though?

We have a few that put in massive hours unpaid as well, as do most clubs I suspect.

thats going to be some kick in the stones for teams like shels and pats who have hardly any support

How so? Turnover isn't just what they bring in at the gate...

I thought it was just 65% on playing staff though- I thought that admin etc would be exempt from that limit?

good for you, thats the way all clubs should be run.
no club in this country should be allowed buy the league like shels and cork have been doing for the last few years,

i prase teams like derry, sligo, waterford and finn harps who try get the best out of local players instead of paying over the odds to players like crow, byrne, fenn, and devine, (spoilt brats)

Actually just been reminded that more people are here fulltime since I havent been able to be....they need bout 8 to do what I used to do! ;)

You're hillarious! :D
Cork City FC, the club whose chairman has never paid a transfer fee for a player, have been "buying the league" for the last few years. :D
I'm now convinced that Waterford people were put on this earth for our amusement.
