When will he learn? Simple football knowledge (which none of us fans have of course) will tell anyone that the surest way to get beaten away is to allow the home team to attack relentlessly for the last 15-20 minutes of a game. It happens every time, city drop deeper and deeper until we're under siege. Our strength this season has been up front but if all we're doing is hoofing out and waiting for the next wave of attacks, we're not goingto utilise it.

The man has obviously got plan A and plan A - nothing else. He either has to learn very quickly to show some tacical sense or our season is going to fall apart. There is no leadership from the bench at all. Last night, he should have been roaring at them to push up and attack, but he just stood and watched, as we miraculously avoided defeat. We have an unbelievably talented squad, but if we go out and do the same thing every week, people are going to figure us out very quickly and a promising season will fall apart.

As for his almost total refusal to acknowledge the travelling fans, well we should be used to that. I couldn't believe it.

Yeah, ive tried not to criticise him too much this season but ive got to say that when we were 1-0 down he just stood there looking clueless, he seemed to think it was nothing to do with him and he stood there like little more than a not very interested spectator.

He completley refused to acknowledge the supporters. We travelled for 7 hours up and 7 back and the grumpy ****** wouldnt even give us a measly little wave.

How many times did we sing "Gunther give us a wave"? Ah sure, it's just as well we don't know anything about football

Maybe he was sitting there wondering who Gunther is and feeling a bit left out that the fans weren't asking him to wave?:D

Just in case he wasnt sure who gunther was we also sang "Liam give us a wave" and "Murphy give us a wave". If he was still confused then he really must be as stupid as he looks! :D

Just to resurrect this- we were talking elsewhere about Murphy not learning from his mistakes- 2 words "Mulconroy, fullback" No offence to Mucky, cos he did his best, but he had a mare last night. he looked out of sorts in Finn Park, but last night he was caught out over and over. What was Murphy thinking with Lordan and Andrews on the bench?

GUNTHER = :confused:

it wasnt a good choice. Mucky isnt a lest back....but neither are Andrews or Lordan.....

Its the result that counts and please god the injuries will start clearing up soon. we'll have some good players back over the coming weeks and that should put us in a strong position

I don't understand why we playing a midfielder at centre back & a right midfielder at left back while we have a centre back in Andrews on the bench.... If Andrews isn't fit why is he on the bench? If he is fit & can't get his game now (2 midfielders in defense) then when will he?

I must say, pete, I've been wondering about this myself. Certainly he looked fit and ready at half time on Tuesday, when he was warming up with Mooney. Obviously you cannot judge a persons fitness on a halftime warmup, but he did come on for a few minutes against (was it Bray or Monaghan ?) . What is the story there?
btw, Dave Warren was not even in the dugout the other night, what's going on with him?

Bennett is no stranger to the centre back role as he a played there before, and he is playing well there at the moment.
Must agree with Mulconroy having a bad game but there was'nt
much wrong with his defending, he just gave the ball away to much. The conditions on Tuesday night were no help to anyone playing bad.

Maybe he the first to fall out with Gunther?

;)

btw i think Colin T can easily play at right back & move Carey out to the left? Then again i haven't seen city in a few weeks (hopefully that'll change this coming week) but Colin was originally a fullback & IMO is not a winger.

I agree pete, although a back 4 of Gaz, Andrews, Bennett & Carey sounds better than one with Mucky at full back. Ive been working/away since the Mons match so I cant really say (+ I havent seen Andrews play). Who is the captain now? Gaz?

Warren was injured for the Bohs match I think, so that's why he was out I suppose.

I'd like to see Andrews given a chance. Maybe at left-back?

IMO Bennett is playing some great stuff at center-half. So maybe Andrews and Bennett in the middle and Gaz at LB?

far as i know, Andrews is not fully fit yet. IMO, he best thing would have been either Lordan or Andrews in the centre and gaz at left-full, or else greg at left full and someone else -maybe mucky- in the centre. I think Warren injured too.

Gaz is captain at the moment as Deccie (club captain, according to chorus) and Napier (1st team captain) are both out.

hoggy had keyhole surgery and will be out for about a month

Andrews has been the bench all season - surely he either capable of playing or else he shouldn't be on the bench?

am i missing something?

I heard that he had a broken bone in his ankle and it wasn't fully healed- that was after the Bray game when he made his debut. I think he on the bench out of necessity rather than fitness.
