An observation from today's papers.

You'd think the League hadn't started yet this season from the amount of coverage it got in today's Sunday papers. Ireland on Sunday (normally OK) had nothing - no mention of the Q/F games played earlier over the weekend.

The S/Independant as usual hit new depths ( a feat they achieve almost on a weekly basis ) - not a single sentence referring to any aspect of the League / Cup. Yet they dedicated print space to those sports of mass audiences - chess, bridge, tennis and wait for it cricket.

Please don't anyone try and tell me there is more interest in this country in each of the above sports than LOI and that more people watch these consistently week in week out than go to see City, $hel$, Derry etc.

Then look at Rugby - how many people go to see Con and their counterparts each week? Yet the coverage they get is embarrasing. There has to be major questions asked of the PR people in charge of the LOI

Even our own Examiner almost chokes on the prospect of putting anything to print on City.

Hats off to the Echo though. Without it we would have to take up cricket or chess..............!
