We were miles ahead of Hoops – Gill


Dundalk manager John Gill felt his side were the better side by “miles” in Thursday night’s big First Division clash with Shamrock Rovers. Gill’s men led for over an hour at Oriel Park but were pegged back by Chris Breen’s leveller late on.

The result keeps Rovers in top spot on goal difference, but Gill believes his side deserved all three points – and he feels they would have got them but for a first-half floodlight failure which held play up for almost half an hour.

Whinge, whinge. If you were "miles better" you would have won by miles. On the 90 minutes a draw was a fair result. Pray its a very very long time before we have to go there again.

have dundalk even got a secretary, because every club has been fed details for the last 3 years of whats gonna happen regard promotion. No club has a divine right to go up if they are not organised properly and there have been instances in many leagues around europe where clubs were prevented because of reasons unrelated to their points tally at seasons end.
that manager you have makes everyone involved with dundalk look stupid because they have been attending meetings where all these issues were well flagged. the fai finally seem to be preparing to put the foot down and set standards and i for one applaud them for that

But no paper is going to print a story about John Gill talking
to his own Clubs secretary.

Giller likes the sound of his own voice and really enjoys reading
about himself in the papers.

Keeps himself in the public eye for when another job comes up.

It's a wonder he hasn't released a statement saying he has not
been approached about the Bohs job.
