Can anyone clarify whether a League Cup final sending off is served in the next League game or in next seasons League Cup?
Obviously of interest to Derry City fans at the minute.

I beleive as I said in my updtaes they will be served next game as no more league cup games left so it will carry to next league game. Happened to Bohs. But they got confuused or something.

This does seem to be the case alright.

Could those red cards earn further than one match bans?If its violent conduct in Brennan's case, then yes.
Brennan apparently received a 2nd yellow so thats unlikely, but given Ian Stokes lack of refereeing ability, anything is possible.
Good to see 4th official Paul Tuite go temporarily blind when Heary elbowed Brennan in the nuts, barely 3 feet in front of him. Usual lack of balls from Eircom League assistant refs/4th officials who are clearly told to leave decisions to the ref.
Compare this to the Gothenburg UEFA Cup game where the assistant ref had no qualms in disagreeing with the ref over a penalty award, the ref spoke to him, agreed he had a better view and changed his penalty award.

There was no lack of balls by the linesman last night as he instructed Stokes to send Forde off. In Stokes' defence it looked like he wasn't going to do much about it until the linesman flagged.
Think they apply for the next competitive fixture, or thats what I though at
the time they happened! Hope they do, auto 1 game suspensions in place for Friday be nice! :D

confused? No we didnt, we just decided to try and really **** Ollie off. Looks like it might work quiite well.
We are going to have 4 players sent off against Bray in our 2nd last game and then play them all against Shels on the last day and hopefully cost you the title.

...he asked hopefully. :rolleyes:Not at all, the last thing we want is PJ in nets against us, we've been saying that for years.

Your current playing staff is so inept that I very much doubt they'd be able to manage to do that. Finding Bray might be a difficulty for some of the less cerebral among them

Micko Donnell was sent off the 2004 League Cup quarter-final against Bohs. His suspension was served in the First Round of the following year's competition.
However, I think the rules were changed after that so that any suspension would be served in either (a) your next game in the same competition or (b) your next league game, if there were no further games in the competition. So it would appear Forde and Brennan are suspended for Friday. I think.
