Brady takes aim at Chelsea
Former Arsenal and Republic of Ireland midfielder Liam Brady has re-ignited the war of words between the Gunners and Chelsea by claiming the Premiership champions have caused a lot of hassle in the English league.
Brady, who is head of youth development with Arsenal believes that Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Stamford Bridge along with Roman Abramovich’s bottomless well of funds has had a negative affect on the game in England.

Complete and utter sour grapes from Brady, but then again its typical from a guy of his calibre. He is just a cretin and it typifies what the man is about. Its guys like him that are bad for football, he is should stick to coaching and shut his mouth.
He has failed his country and he is now failing the game.
Lads, when I said he failed his country, I was not talking directly about the story in the post, although it would be related. I was talking about Brady and his contribution to Irish football or more to the point the lack of constructive contribution to the Irish game.
Now I know some of you will say he is plying his trade across the water, he has a right to do so, and there is nothing wrong with it. And to that I would agree IF that were the only issue. The problem I have is contribution to or impact on the Irish game, which in my opinion is abysmal to put it mildly.
Again, I am not on about any one comment or opinion shared, I am on about everything altogether, his attitude, his position and his use of it, his condescending remarks towards Irish football, not just the eL, but to junior/schoolboy football, everything over many many years.
Apart for not being the least bit ambitious about the Irish game on any level, his complete lack of inspiration or motivation (which again is fine on its own) really gets on my nerves. I am not saying he should have people hanging on every word with him sharing a guru-like wisdom with the average Joe on the street. I am saying that when he does the opposite and criticizes everything, with scathing remarks that do untold damage. I think I am entitled to form an opinion on him, his 'opinion' or 'critique', the way he portrays it and its knock on effect.
The fact that I find him dower and boring, and the complete purveyor of misery does come into it. If he is putting himself out on a limb, representing the gravedigger of ambition then I feel I am entitled to observe it and share my findings, which I have done so.
I am not going to comment on any one of his 'deals' where he enabled some youngster to walk the golden paved streets on his way to having his name in lights, we all know how shady things are when it gets down to it over there and to say he has nothing to do with it would be stupid imo. He is part of the system, a system that, again in my opinion, is crippling the game over here and I think that we should have been able to expect a bit more from him. The reason I have this expectation is that when you look at any other league across the world, the people involved in the sport that receive so much opportunity at one level, more often than not give it back at another level.
It’s a national pride thing I guess, I think Brady has none of it and I think the game has gone backward as opposed to forward as a result of his contribution. I wouldn’t mind if it stood still or if he was never involved in the Irish game again, it’s when it suffers, that’s what gets me.
Lads, just remember now aswell that I formed this opinion over many years and no amount of abuse will change my mind. I will stay open minded though and take on board other peoples opinions and possibly change my own if they were valid, so don’t waste you time if you want to ‘defend the honour of Irelands favourite Londoner’ because I’m not getting into it.

Irelands favourite Londoner’ .
Would that make Roy Keane Ireland's favorite Mancunian?

You can make him whatever you want, i couldn't give a toss. At least he is not ridiculing junior clubs and the people running them.

Brady had enough national pride not to walk out on his country though. A face you are talking through your arse on this one.
Brady offers constructive criticism not the consistent slagging of you know who.
The fact that it has taken you over a week to come back to this says it all.

I gave my opinion, i was asked to elaborate on it and i did. If you are dragging it off down another argument then you should have said that and i wouldn't have responded.
Why did people ask me the elaborate days later? What does that say ?? I didn't respond because i didn't see it, if you put 2 and 2 together you'll see my opinion did change, so why would i not want to comment. Fact is ..... i am right and you offered nothing to say otherwise.
I will repeat though .... i am not getting dragged off on a debate i am not getting involved in.

Oh you're right? Ah why didnt you say so then? While you're at it you should have put in FACT that way we could have taken you seriously:eek:
You're talking rubbish about Brady. You said he has no national pride. He travelled to that disastrous trip to South America in 1982 while you know who couldnt be arsed playing in a World Cup. That's national pride for you.
If Brady was from cork you wouldnt be saying anything and you know it. And you're a mod? Christ on a bike.

You elaborated on your opinions, that's fine but worthless. Less than worthless actually as you have not offered one piece of evidence to support your opinions. So far the only thing that is evident is your admitted overwhelming prejudice to anything Brady.

That what people say about Roy Keane, "If he was from Dublin, he'd be a hero" - I KNOW i would have the same opinion about Brady no matter where he was from.
What? I'm a mod so i cant have an opinion ?? Give over would ya?

Dont agree with all (or even that much) that A Face has said on this subject, but will you give him a break.

He did point out that Brady is part of a youth system in a country which has consistently taken the best young talent in Ireland, thereby denying the national league. Whether he is failing his country or not, he is certainly failing his national league.

Do you expect him to sit at his computer all day with his fingers hovering over the keys, waiting for people to insult him so he can reply?
Whether you like it or not, everybody is entitled to give their opinion, he has done so without any personal attacks on any poster here, which is more than some of those who have replied can say.

Have to agree here - being a mod has nothing to do with this.

Brady is employed by Arsenal as Head of Youth Development. His job is to get the best youths from around the world and bring them to Arsenal. To say he is failing the league here is hogwash. Its up to the clubs here to make sure the best kids stay on through scholarships or other incentives but it is hard when clubs like that come in for a kid.

But when a foreign club comes in, the player will almost always go. I know that Brady is employed by Arsenal, and his job is to find players and bring them to Arsenal, but you cant deny that when he, and any youth development manager does this, it damages the quality of the league the players are taken from.
Doing this will not damage the players international prospects (in fact it will improve them), but is does damage the league that loses them

Possibly but who's to say that if a good player stays at home that he would ever get to the EL. He might lose interest, get injured etc. Stretching it to claim that Brady is deliberately ruining the EL though. Cant remember the last time a player in the EL went to Arsenal btw.
