View Full Version : Cobh Ramblers v GUFC
Will the official site be doing match updates like for the u21 match against cork, or do we have to suffer watching aertel?
i doubt if there will be anyonr from galway at the game to text updates.Check out the website jw names on the thread where i was looking for a lift.
Aertel was terrible last saturday night as they didnt change our score until full time and then there was no report until sunday afternoon.

Great result 2nite and it was brillant to see dowdy score cos his workrate throughout the season was not rewarded with goals but hopefully he can nick a few more goals as the season comes too a close....Roll on saturday evening. C'MON UNITED!!! :) :)
yep, well done united. Always a hard place to come out of with 3 points. If I remember correctly, Dowdy scored 5 goals in the last 7 or 8 matches of last season. Hopefully he can go on a similair run again !!!
The goal was in the 87th minute aertel and the papers are a joke. JW was keeping me in touch from setanta.com and then the nice girl in the Ramblers bar rang me back when the final whistle went.
The goal by the way was allegedly an absolute screamer from nearly 30 yards out according to Goughy and im delighted for Dowdy who is a model to the rest of the team always gives 100% and never moans or sulks when he is dropped.
Its vital we let everyone in town and beyond know the game is on saturday night. at 7.00pm
Was it definitely the 87th minute? It seemed a never-ending wait for FT confirmation - I only got it after the Rovers game was over and that started supposedly 15 minutes later!!!
Fair play to Dowdy - he always gives it everything. In fairness to the lads two away wins in Kildare and Cobh represent very good results.

congrats to dave o dowd and fair play to ya. that was a very big 3 points for us last night especially with rovers and dundalk also winning. we need to go on a run now and start to rack up the wins. we have eleven games drawn at this stage of the season which is an awful lot. i think its because we have a tendency to just sit back towards the end of games and not try to kill them off. i feel if we can just start to keep pushing teams until the final whistle we'll win a lot more games and keep pushing up the table

IM 100% sure the goal would have been scored before the 87th minute as it came up on aertel for me at just after 9.15, 15 minutes before the match would have ended. I remember saying to myself around 10 minutes left to play and I hope they are not going to just sit back !!!!

thats the exact same way i felt myself, i was sure there was 5 or 10 mins left and i thought that we were just gonna sit back and give away stupid free kicks like we did against kildare.
We cannot afford to do this against better opposition as we will get punished

74th mn for the goal then galway dropped and kept defending their advantage til the final whistle
it s definetely a great result even though a draw i think was a fair result and i was a bit disapointed by barry and murph's they ve been quite poor yesterday
fair play to gough he saved twice the cleen sheet with two great saves at the end and great finish dowdy he deserve a run now i think coz he s a hard worker and whatever peole say about him he scores goals
and i forgot a special mention to the referees who were a big joke that s a disgrace for soccer in ireland!!
Looping - you should have joined us so :)
I figured it was the 74th minute because the FT confirmation was about 25 minutes later.
Thanks for the match report - the sitting-back-on-our-slender-lead recollection sounds about right..
I was just reading the match report there on www.galwayunitedfc.ie and I see that murphy got a yellow card from the bench for comments that he made, so he will also miss the kilkenny match along with foley.
